10 pages hmm? The question is, do you think the admin will get a hold of who did that to my tag and have them contact me about what crawled up their butt before 10 pages is reached?

So its a fun and nonsense thread now!!!! yahooo

RS if there was a zombie apocalypse, my TRUST would be with M3 before any other . . .

As much as anyone may like or dislike Mod3, when it comes to the zompocalypse my trust lays with my modified Mossberg. Not unlike survival on these forums, the CDC has published a wonderful Zombie Pandemic Preparedness Guide. If you haven't seen it, it is worth a peek. It is comic book format and fun to look at.

And Shifty....onward to 10 pages...

Apologies. No clue what happened there, but it's being fixed ASAP.

Given the minuscule number of people with the ability to make the change that was made on RS's avatar, that seems highly unlikely.

Even the Mods don't have that ability. It takes the very top tier admin access to do that.

LadyPact swore... does she normally do that?

Thanks to you guys pointing our that it wasn't a mistake, accident or the worlds longest type-o, I have been getting letters and theories about why I may have been called an ass. One theory is because I used the owner's first name in an open forum. I sorta' though his name was common knowledge and back in the day when we talked about powers that be, you had to discern between them by name, which often occurred on the forums as well as Tiffany's signed letter on CollarMe.com after she absconded with the domain.

I admit I may not recall accurately how much of this name mentioning happened in open chat vs private chat, so it is a plausible theory... especially since Mod3 said when they all left, there was only 2 people that still had access and one was support. If M38284 is new, that makes 3 or more. Either way, using a personal identifier, no matter how vague, is a violation of old school BDSM protocol whether other people were doing it or not. My bad and to the owner, you have my apology for my poor protocol.

However, I am sure this isn't what got someone's panties in a twist or I would have gotten a note and the owner would have deleted the instances where his name was mentioned.

Because your replies have pointed the childish malice from someone in CM management, a confused and sincere member wrote me asking what the hell was going on? They asked about the Mod Wars I & II, about the owner etc. I found myself trying to answer without naming names but putting events in chronological order so they understood the management changes, conflicts etc. It turned into a 622 word letter that is half finished and I didn't send it.

I don't know the owner personally. We have mutual friends in real life so some of the story is second hand. I don't think it is bad taste to share my understanding of what happened over the years here at CollarDrama but . . . does putting that information in the wind just add to all problems and make more fuel for gossip? Should I just shut up or finish the letter?

What if we all get together and quit all this baby talk about "certain people" doing "certain things" and just tell it like it is in a thread with unbiased dialogue? The truth of it is an endearing story about the owner's struggle with a variety of obstacles. I see former ex mods have come back to the forums lately. If they all got together and told the story about the past 5 years, it would dispel all the bullshit by providing some factual insight. I am sure it will evoke empathy in some and loathing in others. But at least you could love or hate it honestly. Maybe it would scrounge up some sincere help and inspire a little patience and tolerance from our membership.

When I feel frustrated with or embarrassed by being associated with CollarChat because of the state of affairs, I remind myself of the story behind owner's mission and struggles to provide us with a free dating site and forum. His tribulations inspire my tolerance. I am also reminded that I found my slave wife here and many good friends. Seeing so many old friends and fellow forum members post replies in this thread gives me a warm fuzzy feeling and makes weeding through 86 spam threads to find someone or some topic worthy of having a discussion less painful.

What do you think?

I agree crazyml, RS rocks. However I think many people need to realize that the people behind the machines are still people. Many people made M3's job unnecessarily hard and during a time when she was hospitalized with illness. No one cared but they certainly consoled each other for stubbed toes. I'm amazed sometimes. Just amazed. There is bias and then there is bullshit. I'm sure many know of what occurred between forum members and prior mods and are acting accordingly. RS's incident was an unfortunate slight in this regard. They might have thought it was "playyful/funny" but I agree that boundaries should be respected.

Okay, that explains why mod3 says anybody who gives her more work to do will simply be banned.
BUT!!! We didn't know she is facing illness and hospitalised do we? Not like she let us know her real life difficulties, and fact of the matter is, she should be release from her duty as a Mod and focus on her recovery! And have someone who can function better with it.

And just to note, this forum wasn't any harder compared to when older mods were around. It's always been alot of work to moderate, as you are dealing with heated exchanges, and lots of different personalities!

It's not an easy job! It's not meant to be. She can't take up with this role and expect it to be easy or attempt to make it easier for herself to manage.

Greta75 -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/26/2015 10:57:43 PM)

I also hope that this forum will stop the anonymous mod nonsense. If they are moderating fairly in accordance to the clearly stated T&Cs, they have nothing to fear.

ResidentSadist -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/26/2015 11:00:58 PM)

I have a narcissistic streak I try to compensate for, but it gives me a blind spot. That is why I have not yet responded to your compliments... it was my attempt at modesty. I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge and thank you all for your support and kind words about me, my presence, ethics and contributions to these forums.

You guys rock!!! Thank you.

That's where you're incorrect. Moderation via anonymity allows the moderator to still be a member with individual views, even though the moderator must moderate based on the owner's views.

ResidentSadist -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/26/2015 11:41:38 PM)

I just got yet another letter from an old forum friend that was told to "'suck it up' or sod off" after someone changed their forum tag... and the old tag wasn't offensive, it was cute. So that member chose the 'sod off' option. I had wondered what happened to them, now I know.

Meanwhile people have been writing me on FetLife because the are afraid mods will read my mail, discover their new screen name and ban them. Holy jebus, I have really been living in a cave these past few years. Right after getting married I focused on business so my visits to the forums were targeted, surgical so to speak. I had no idea all this crap was going on. I may appear to know some of the back story because I chat with the mods, but they sure didn't fess up to me about all this petty crap that was going on. What a mess.

Let me get this straight. They changed:

DaddySaytr: > Deranged

mnottertail: BCNU > Minister of Blowjobs, Shoe Clique
I made the damn artwork for that. Ron wanted and Ice cream and BCNU text in the pic.

Hillwilliam > BUBBLENUTZ
WTF... dude, is that your choice or did they just do that to you?

ResidentSadist: [Awaiting Approval] > Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass > Insane

And a few more I got in the mail that go unmentioned. Anyone care to add to this list. I would like to know the extent of the insanity. Can you name someone that gt their tag changed for no reason?

Who else left because of the mods childish actions or was banned for no good reason in the past couple years? Inquiring minds want to know.

sexyred1 -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/26/2015 11:58:34 PM)

I have no idea what's going on here, but I am happy to see many old posters back.

Hopefully that means the fun threads come back as well, because it certainly has been boring the past months.

Makes no difference to me anonymous or not, that mod still needs to do the same thing. Have her own opinion, but make judgements base on owner's guidelines. And if she is always fair and just, everyone will be able to see it and respect the mod more. The anonymity takes off her pressure to be fair and just.

Okay...well. here it goes...

At one point I was a Mod on this site. I was recruited by VAA and then she disappeared two weeks later. On my first day, because of my lack of knowledge of the Moderator panel, I accidentally deleted someone's post. When I wrote an email apologizing profusely, I was accused of bias and doing it deliberately, followed by rant that hurt my feelings..it was someone that I considered a friend.

I tried very hard to follow the directions laid out by the owner, a head moderator and a head of support....which all conflicted each other.

I was accused of favoritism by people I considered friends. I had two members accuse me of favoring each other when in fact both had been booted. I sat out a power struggle that appears to orchestrated by the owner. All of this because I thought I could be helpful in getting rid of trolls and spammers. In reality, I was bashed over and over by people I considered my friends. If some of the things that had been emailed to me had been emailed to you...you'd be horrified.

I can't tell you how many pages of hate mail I received on a daily basis. How many friends accused me of having a vendetta against them, when the reality was that regardless of how I felt about them, a rule had been mandated that I had no control over.

I actually quit a couple of times and was talked into coming back by the promise that the forums would be the forums and the other side would butt out.

Then I was thanked by being perma banned by the new moderator regime for pointing out that a person they refused to boot had actually admitted to having 15-20 sock accounts designed to inflame the forums.

So, yeah...I don't want to hear excuses for what was done to RS ...and even less about what you think I was thinking. I especially like the speculation that I didn't try to be fair and just because it was anonymous. Like I have no moral compass.

In regards to what happened to RS:

There are three tiers of power in the forums: Tier 1 - you have the power to move posts and hide posts - Tier 2 - you have the power to ban users - Tier 3 - you can edit their CollarChat profiles. Removing profiles and blocking on content on the CS side is beyond the moderators/admins of this forum.

There you go. Walk a mile in my shoes sometime.

Greta75 -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/27/2015 12:40:28 AM)

For the Record, I always felt you were one of the saner and fairer mods. It stood out.
I am saying you do not have to be anonymous at all! Because you were doing a good job!

First I want to thank you for giving it a go as mod for however long you did. I've never felt I had the stamina to accept their recruitment invitations. I understand it can be difficult to work with CollarMe and that seems to be a universal opinion. You might be a masochist if they talked you into coming back more than once . . . just sayin'.
[:)]
It is also stressful when you stand accountable for your own mistake to a friend, apologize and get accused of doing it deliberately. I empathize with you and understand getting you feelings hurt. Add to that the competitive or adversarial mod vs mod atmosphere that comes and goes, combined with flack from the membership base in general (hate mail) and most mods look like they have PTSD when talking about their time with CollarChat.

I don't presume to know what you were thinking. My comment about mod's childish actions wasn't meant to be a sweeping statement, although in retro spec I see it could look like that. Allow me to qualify with a quote from part of the unfinished letter I was writing.

"The few volunteer mods I knew that have been truly selfless and interested in serving the community eventually got tired of the abuse from management including getting banned by the lead mod. So the only people that seem to stay longest . . . "

Thanks for sharing your story and information about the Moderator Panel. Many people don't understand that aspect and it sheds light on who can do what.

LadyPact -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/27/2015 1:17:27 AM)

Are we still going for ten? We're only at six.

Actually, Lady Pact isn't a stranger to the f-bomb. I just try to be more polite when typing things out. Back in the day, that's how somebody knew I wasn't behind that 'fab four' business. It was because I don't use the c-word.

Now, to address some stuff...

Manko, I don't know what happened with the Nazi business. I think that's kind of indecent. The last I heard, anybody pulling that kind of thing was supposed to get a time out.

Greta, I actually don't blame any Mod for not wanting their identity to be revealed. I've seen people, literally, threaten to kill Mods. A couple of which are actually crazy enough to do it. And, that stuff about how people's real names are out there on the black and white site doesn't really change my opinion. A couple of those "real people" have been outed at their former jobs, to their families, etc. If you don't think people will chase someone down in real life, you are sadly mistaken.

I was damn right f*cking pissed when I was informed last week that I was supposedly scamming folks for money around here. I was even more pissed when I found out that M3 was telling folks it was me who was threatening to sue the site. At least RS had the balls to tell me.

MrRodgers -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (9/27/2015 1:26:09 AM)

I didn't vote. I am THE uninformed constituent here. I don't know who's who and don't know what they do. Personally I feel that while I don't
come to the 'off topic' forum that much, that we, yes we, get a bit overwrought sometimes especially given this is a free site and should be
thankful for what we do have.

For example Osidegirl, I haven't the slightest idea where you or any mod would get the time and appreciate any contribution you make.

I tend to avoid forum drama and have a particular distaste for what devolves into nothing more than a chat pissing contest. So let's step back
and relax a bit just enjoy the conversation.

I was once sent an email that said I should light myself on fire because I was a blight on the world and had nothing to offer the human race. All for removing a post for a ToS violation. At least having the Mod identity allowed me to separate it from my identity. If that had come addressed to ME, it would have been much more hurtful than it was.

Got it in his head one night to post torture pics of UMs and said the Mods (at the time) would be next.
