Glad you are feeling better, RS.

While you were under the weather, did you happen to breathe on New Mod? The way the forums are going to sh^t, New Mod must be feeling poorly, too.

It very well could be the mod is sick. Whatever I had is something that is going around. And it hits you like a truck... 24 hours and you are flat on your ass in bed fighting for your life. I lost over 11 lbs.

My friend Mike, a chemist on the other side of Florida got the same thing. Like me, they put him on amox, didn't work. Put him on Z-pak, didn't work. Finally put him on levofloxacin and he responded. Today was his first day back to work too, but he is still using the steroid inhaler and taking prednisone. He was down and out for 9 weeks, so sick he couldn't get out of bed. He lives alone, had to piss in a bucket. He only ate when people brought him something. He was so worried at one point, he called friends & family to make peace and thank them for their friendship because he wasn't sure he was going to live through it.

I can tell you that if the mod has what I had, his only thoughts are on survival and he is fighting for his next breath, taking steam showers, drinking hot tea w/whiskey & honey, sucking down cough syrup, using a steroid inhaler, taking steroid pills (prednisone), nose spray, Tylenol, codeine and Night Time Cold Pills. Until Wed of last week, my whole world was reduced to trying to breath, taking medicine and finding something on cable I haven't already seen before. At one point, I was constantly coughing so bad I went 5 days without REM sleep. I would sleep 2 or 3 times a day for 20 minutes and that was it. When I did feel better, I felt lost . . . like I had forgotten the meaning of life and what my purpose was. Then the meds wore off, my ribs screamed in pain and it was back to bed again.

So yes, if the mod is sick, they are probably down for the count.

Hell, I was only able to work for 5 hours today and it kicked my ass. I am exhausted, coughing again and have a sore throat now. I am going to the doctor first thing tomorrow morning at 8am and get some of that levofloxacin that worked for my friend. I refuse to let this shit take another day of my life from me.

Good to hear you are on the mend, even if it is slower than you were hoping. Good luck with the doc tomorrow.

Thanks for your good luck wishes . . . all went well great with the doctor. My doctor had been my slave's doctor for many years. He is pretty cool and has great sense of humor. Because my ear is swollen shut, I knew he was going to look in there. So I used a trimmer to cleanup any random hairs hanging around. When he pulled out his scope, as he leaned over, I told him "I knew you going to do that, so I trimmed up . . . I shaved for date so it wouldn't look like a hairy monkey in there". He laughed his ass off. So he probed me with scopes and things to make sure the coughing blood thing I had the other day wasn't a serious problem (it wasn't). Anyway, he put me back on all those meds and prescribed super strong antibiotic. Should speed up my recovery.

My closest pharmacy is at a Publix grocery store. I really went crazy at the deli counter while waiting for my Rx to get filled. I was ordering shit "like a boss" because I am so stupid happy to get out of the house, even just to grocery shop. Happy like when your dog hears the car keys jingle and knows they are going for a ride. At least if the apocalypse hits we are set because we now have a life time supply of salami, ham and cheeses. I really over did it. Gonna' have eat at least 2 sandwiches a day so it doesn't spoil.

We also stopped at Home Depot and the slave ran in to get a fresh air filter for the house. We're shifting into clean up mode around here, but all that was exhausting and I took a nap. Good thing I own my company, I didn't get up and go to work until 2pm. I was thrilled to get some work done, I am happy as a clam.

RS, The Man had bronchitis and spent three weeks after finishing the antibiotics feeling dreadful. Didn't start to recover till he took probiotics to fix the intestinal problems the antibiotics had caused.

He got assessed for Legionaires but not diagnosed with it. Apparently there's been several outbreaks. You may want to empty your hot tub and sterilize it before refilling, as they're a breeding ground for it.

That made me giggle. Thank you for that!

I think that's something a sick person finds agonizingly hard to do.

This sick person, anyway.

ResidentSadist -> RE: -= Stop it, RS. Dont be an ass=- (11/13/2015 9:06:34 PM)

Even though I could barely talk, I should have called you. My poor slave went weeks and weeks without any spankings or tortures... could have used some help with that. What are friends for right? [:D] Even when she got sick too (a cold) I was still well attended by my poor untortured, unrewarded slave.

Thank you for your empathy. It really did get pretty bad. Talk about a service slave . . . anyone that can survive 5 weeks of a deathly sick ResidentSadist deserves a medal. I have a real treasure in her. Her loyalty and dedication to me is so much more than her position as a slave. She is such a good hearted person and she overcomes obstacles to make me feel her love... this one was above and beyond the call of duty. For example . . .

I really should have been in a hospital. But I wouldn't have had the on demand cable, the snacks, the drinks or double dose of meds when I couldn't take it any longer and needed some sleep. Institutional hospital care would not have been as comforting even if by "normal" standards I should have been there. Besides, both of us have been in the medical field and we both know the hospital is the worst place to be with a compromised immune system. That place is full of sick people all jammed up together under one roof . . . scary germs everywhere!

She (samdarella) was a real trooper. I would fever sweat through more than 5 sets of clothes a day. There were salt rings on the sheets. I had a towel and hair blower by the bed to dry off when I woke up cold soaking wet. She had to constantly do the washing.

I was coughing up a pint of fluid per hour at one point, sweating when I was hot and sweating when I was cold. I needed fluids 24/7, and lots of them. She would craft a mix of soda and juice to make pleasant things to drink. Hell, she would get from a dead sleep and go fetch me drinks and help with the meds then go back to sleep. I suggested she sleep in the guest room to get some peace, but she slept at my side the entire time, constantly being woken up from my coughing and that hair blower. It was pretty insane around here . . . we were doing a lot of shit that was off the wall to keep me from having to stay in a hospital.

I am up and functional again. Not a lot of endurance, but I am on my feet again... even started the day by spanking up the slave for the first time in 5 weeks and got a bunch done at work. Thanks for your comment.

He got assessed for Legionaires but not diagnosed with it. Apparently there's been several outbreaks. You may want to empty your hot tub and sterilize it before refilling, as they're a breeding ground for it.

I was also assessed as Legionella symptomatic. He has my sympathy, this one is worse than the double birdflu one that went around killing people in 2000 or so. This thing presents as Legionella but it is contagious so it's probably not that. This is my 4th day on Levaquin (Levofloxacin) which is specifically for Legionella and a couple other pneumonia bacteria. It is working GREAT!!!

Yuppers, gotta' go with the probiotics to get put back together again. I'll spare the ugly details, but the antibiotics and associated intestinal problems helped dehydrated me so badly I couldn't rehydrate fully. Was so dehydrated I was dizzy when I stood up.

Been feeling better so we are in clean up mode. Been sterilizing shower heads and stuff in case it really was legionnaires disease. The bedroom spelled like bleach all day the other day.
