The FBI is not going to end it's investigation of the e-mail scandal because of this.

mnottertail -> RE: Umpqua mass shooting (10/1/2015 1:31:01 PM)

Nope, they have nothing better to do, there isn't any bigger national security issue on our horizon.

At 18 the army will give them a machine gun.

You are sooo full of shit. The army does no such thing. An 18 year old is allowed to touch a machine gun only under the direct supervision of an n.c.o.. That "18" year old is not allowed to touch a loaded machine gun unless  under the direct supervision of a staff n.c.o.. Access to firearms in the military is strictly controlled. Access to ammunition is even more strictly controlled. So stop making shit up.

When I was in high school we had teachers with guns, I asume this was common, and there were no school shootings in those days.

You must have lived a sheltered life. We had gang fights with knives and guns in southern california in the 50's.
I never saw a penguin carry a gun but no one phoqued with them because they were like ninja's disguised as penguins. Think four cornered heavy object on the end of a three foot rosary made of 1/8" s/s cable.[:(]

Here, you err. I think you must be confusing Oregon with some other state...

You may be right, I no that they passed some that they claimed would stop this sort of thing, but NY and CA are hard to beat. They are tougher than we have here and they have had more of these incidents.

The fbi could not find their ass with both hands and a map.
The keystoned cops were exposed for the incompetent ninconpoops they are by an obscure attourney named Johnnie L Cochran

It'd be like me saying that California is the most gun friendly state.

You do know that the courts in california have stated that the appropriate agency "shall" issue ccw permits to all qualified applicants.  Maybe not "the" gun friendliest state but hardly the biggest enemy.

The 6th circuit made them do that because they had outlawed both open and cocealed carry. Even the 6th circuit saw that this was a violation of their rights. And yes if they could get away with it. Remember that CA made people register evil looking guns with the promise that they just needed to know where they where and a year later confiscated them in spite of promises that they had no intention of ever doing so.

Very sad but it will divert the public from email scandals and the Mideast debacle.

I did not suggest they would.

The mainstream media, will however, completely ignore the Mideast and the email scandal for about the next week and focus on the college shooting. The hope, of course, is that people forget about the other two.

You are such a dumbass the sixth circuit court did no such thing. The sixth circuit has no jurisdiction in california.

Perhaps you could give us a link to those guns being confiscated?

You are the dumbass, the CA laws were appealed to the Federal courts as they violated peoples rights.

Try this but there are a number of links.

It may have been the 3rd but it was the Federal circuit court that forced the issue, not the pro gun stance of CA

mnottertail -> RE: Umpqua mass shooting (10/1/2015 2:23:17 PM)

3rd is Mass area
6th is Ohio area
9th is Ca area

Update:

The shooter at Umpqua Community College on Thursday asked people to state their religion and then started firing, one student said. Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old, told the News Review she was sitting in her writing class when a bullet blasted through the window. She saw her teacher shot in the head then noticed that the shooter was in the classroom. Moore said the shooter told people to get on the ground. He then asked people to stand up and state their religion but started firing anywhere. She was on the ground next to people who'd been shot. At least 13 people have been killed, according to several sources.

So what BamaD is trying to say is that,
Oregon has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation
That the 6th circuit court forced California to start issuing cc licenses
That California confiscated guns
And that more guns will make us safer

Any one see a trend forming?

Many refer to the 9th circuit as being quite liberal. Where do you think it meets? Where do you think the members of the court grew up and lived before being appointed to the court?
The legislature (which is a different branch of government than the courts)passed a law severely restricting californias previous open carry law. A resident of california who was legally qualified to own a firearm was denied a ccw by a local sherriff. The resident appealed to the 9th circuit for relief. The 9th circuit said that the resident's rights were being violated by the sherriff for arbitrary and insignificant reasons and that he was to comply with the law forthwith. You see the right to ccw was there and an individual (not unlike the jesus phreque and the marriage license)chose to be a dick about it. The courts told him to stop being a dick and do his phoquing job.
This is the reason why there is a seperation of powers. The cops do not get to write the laws...their job is to enforce them.  When they do not the courts remind them that they are not immune to the law.

This speaks of an attempt but not of any actual confiscation.
