ORIGINAL: Greta75 In my country, all men serve compulsory military service, and basically, all the men are part of the military strength when war happens, all are military ready to step in. There has been alot of calls from men to get women to serve as well, but I suspect why it isn't happening is because of the cost to the country it would be, to pay the salaries of all these women as well during their military service. As how it works is, whatever your normal job is, when you are called back in, that's the same amount they have pay you. So if you are making 100k per annum, they are paying you that rate. And you have to spend several times a year, a few weeks each, back inside. How many wome make a 100 k per year in singapore? "Considering a career with the Civil Service in Singapore?
