I can just imagine the fun Greg Nicataro would have doing the special effects for a scene that would involved a brush cutter. The guy certainly seems to love his work. Just imagine how cool that would be.

I was pretty convinced going into episode four that we weren't going to get any answers about anything besides Morgan's backstory. I just had my mind set that they are screwing with us on purpose, so I didn't start out with the idea that we'd see what we were waiting for. Not thrilled about it. Just something I accepted.

Personally, I liked seeing Morgan's backstory. I was even good with it being ninety minutes because only sixty would have made it seemed rushed. Completely a different kind of pace from the other three episodes this season and I came away with a huge admiration of the way Lennie James and John Carroll Lynch (Morgan and Eastman) played their roles. I didn't expect Eastman to survive the episode but unlike all of the Alexandrians that have met their end, I actually cared when Eastman died.

Yes HW.......they are called Brushcutters here and are made by a number of companies, including McCullough, Makita and others I believe.

I know what they're called, I'm just waiting for their appearance on the series.

I really enjoyed episode 4. My day had been so stressful, I don't think I could have handled another episode like JSS!

What has drawn me in, and kept me a fan, has always been the character development and storyline arcs. The gore, action and suspense is fun - and I love me a zombie show - but what keeps me on the edge of my seat is how each of the different characters can become 'real' and I'm emotionally invested (as much as you can be in a fictional show) in their survival.

I've liked Morgan from the beginning, and seeing his breakdown after his son's death and how he's suffered from guilt over how his inability to shoot his wife resulted in his son's death - combined with survivor's guilt and PTSD. Wow. His journey, and new philosophy is amazing and the potential for disaster palpable.

I'm big on character development, too. If it was just a zombie show, I probably wouldn't watch it. Not that I don't enjoy the make-up and special effects because I think they do a great job with those for a weekly show. (I can get very interested in how the pull off certain things.) I'm just way more into how the characters respond when having to deal with their environment.

Creating the Eastman character as a criminal psychologist coming across Morgan who was out of his head was awesome. If it was real, some people would crack. Heck, some people crack without an apocalypse, so some people would lose their mind. For me, that's some of the most interesting stuff on the show.

I give you my word, peon. I will not send you any emails with spoilers in them.

I don't think we're going to get our big answer tonight, anyway. I won't be surprised if we have one more week of suspense.

Hello fellow Deadheads.

I have to agree with Ladypact expressed about the character development of Morgan in the last rendering, but it did help clarify some of the internal struggles that Morgan was going through when he decided to stay and live with people in Alexandria. I had flashbacks of his dealings with Carol and Rick as the story of "How Morgan became Morgan". Eastman gave Morgan for lack of a better words, something to believe in, that he could overcome his mental state and gain back pieces of Morgan's humanity. The eternal struggle real and raw. Will Morgan be different than Eastman? That is the question that I was left with.

I too have my own theories as there are a few things the series has not explored yet as the graphic novel includes. I am not sure however, if we will get the answers in this next episode of the burning questions that we ALL want to know.

The count down begins. Can't wait to see what happens next!

Live in Peace

Filler for the scroll. We're up to episode five now. Please be careful of spoiler content.

It's rare that I'm disappointed in a TWD episode. Last night's was probably one of my least favorites of all time. Over half of it was jut boring filler junk that was more soap opera than anything else.

Some good points. Deanna's cracking up. I do like what they did with her. As a fellow vertically challenged person, I kind of laughed at how tall the walker who tried to get her in the street was and how she couldn't really reach high enough to get the brain.

Maggie's bombshell. Congrats to those who called this one for being right. Not something I'd do personally but that's just opinion. I do hope this just doesn't turn into a rerun of Lori.

Aaron. I like Aaron and all of his screen time was worthwhile.

The rest? Damn soap opera. Thank goodness we will have better stuff to look forward to next week.

I thought last night's episode was lame too. Maybe because I just came off a binge and got caught up, and that episode followed the Eastman one, which is one of my favorites. Maybe just because I want to live in Eastman's house and on that land! So beautiful; I'd gladly kill a few zombies to live there.

For someone who cries dramatically all the time, I thought Maggie was fairly subdued when she said she thought Glenn was dead. I watched that episode again and it looked like the zombies got the guy who fell on top of Glenn. But it doesn't look good for him even so.

Well, caught the episode now - and I'm still hooked. Yes, there was a lot of 'filler' stuff - but I don't care. The series has to pace itself. I don't mind bits where the plot doesn't move substantially and the time is filled with lots of gore and nastiness instead.

I still wish that they could all take a shower now and then, though. I mean, they have a village pond at least. Tut.

Filler for the scroll. As always, please remember that the guidelines for this section ask us not to put spoilers in the first few lines. Please watch episode six before reading the thread if you don't want to know what happens before seeing the show.

I liked this one way more than episode five. All focused on characters (Sasha, Abraham, and Daryl) that we're invested in at this point. I really like how far Daryl as come as a character. Definitely not the same guy from season one.

Was anybody else disappointed when the pair took off with Daryl's bike? Not because the bike and the crossbow are gone, but because they turned out to be non-candidates for Alexandria residents, after all? I wonder whether we'll see them again or not?

I'm not thrilled with everything this season but I think we're primed for the last two episodes before mid-season break.

Hello fellow Deadheads,

Waves to the Brits! I feel the pain of the spoilers as to watching NEW episodes of Doctor Who in the U.S. is the same. I will try very hard not to write about spoilers. I get frustrated when a friend does the same thing to me.

So many unanswered questions at this point. I guess "The Writers" are building us up.
I too was upset the two took Daryl's bike and cross bow. Makes you wonder what will Daryl do next. Will he become a wander or captive or return to Alexandria?

After these last couple of episodes there is something swimming around in Abraham's head. When I think about his character portrayal thus far it seems that he has also becoming a bit more self aware, but we see glimpses of the old Abraham and Sasha trying to rein him in a weird sort of way. The G.I. Abraham twist makes you wander though.

I do hope Maggie's story does not mirror the plight of Lori, but I fear the previous as to the mention of the baby name in the underground tunnel. Maggie's new protector perhaps or caregiver of the baby if she get's the Lori treatment.

This season thus far has reminded me of when I was watching the series "Lost" a bit.

Hi to the fellow The Walking Dead fans. We're at episode seven now, so watch before reading. Please, no spoilers in the scroll. Thank you.

Head's Up. Kind of a cute name for the episode.

So, all of the talk over the last few weeks about Glenn's fate? Give credit where it's due if you have friends who were right and we were all fooled. Poor Steven Yuen. I almost feel bad for the guy.

I have to say, I'm about sick of teenagers in the zombie apocalypse. When there's walkers all over the place and a grown up tells you "let's go," maybe coping an attitude (and pulling a gun) isn't the best idea. She's lucky it wasn't one of the Alexandrians because they'd have left her butt behind, anyway. And Rick's trusting Ron to learn how to handle a weapon just how many days after shooting porch dick. (Porch dick is Pete - http://nerdist.com/the-walking-dead-corey-brill-sings-the-ballad-of-porchdick/ )

The wall is down, so we're led right into a potentially very good season finale for next week.
