Everybody is complaining about the suck puppets. It's getting out of hand. And yes yes, I've played with them too, so I'm not saying that I'm above it all or anything... However, I've been trying to back off, and I know some others have too... but it seems like every time somebody backs off from engaging with them, somebody else takes over. I'm putting them on hide. What about you?

While the sock puppets do suck, you may want to change the typo in the original. [;)] Also, I can not answer your poll because my option is not currently present. I'm sticking with actually wanting the moderators to enforce their own guidelines about not creating alternative profiles to post on the forums, thereby circumventing moderation. Really seems like the logical course. Why moderate/remove posting privileges on one account if they are just going to allow additional accounts by the same user to still remain on the forums?

The mods have said that they're not monitoring the forum. If you want it gone, report. I did so several times. The result was an immediate new account that brought a new influx of people who had stopped replying to the old account to reply again to the new one. I finally stopped reporting because I got sick of it making the issue worse.

I've had them on ignore for awhile and I add the new ones as they come along. But, I also agree with LP - not enforcing your own rules is just adds to the problem. The majority of threads at this point are just nonsense spouted by socks arguing with each other.

I wonder if the moderator finally saw the gaping maw of the abyss and said time to spray on some fuckitall. Lets face it, that job is like swimming a shit river a mile wide and swallowing a turd every stroke.

If people really stop giving the poppets attention and hide them, they might eventually fade away. But Ishhtar, you gave them a ton of attention for quite some time, and they won't go away any time soon with that taste in their mouths. A young hot woman playing with them on the boards? It'll be a miracle if they ever give up now. And I am lumping the poppets with the trolls when I say that.

Reporting a thread doesn't mean I can't make smart ass comments on it. I do, however, see the reporting is already in progress. Instead of waiting for those 20-40 reports to come in, why not just stop the nonsense in the beginning? Except for P&R, there's really not a lot of forum activity and it's easy enough to see the threads that the trolls start. Quick search by author to see what other posts need to be removed/hidden, log activity, and moderate the new screen name. Done. ETA - Not that I believe it, mind you. I saw one of RS's posts go poof earlier today and there wasn't any violation in it.

I can fake just about any IP address I want. For the less computer savy there are websites that let you pick an IP. So you can change it as many times as you want

I've only been back for a day or so. I was out sick, so when I did pop in I didn't look around much. But today when I look at the forums thread listings and 10 out of 19 threads in Polls or Random Stupidity are * IGNORED * and 6 threads here are * IGNORED *, that seems excessive to me . . . don't you think? I love to gumption of the new mod and they don't seem to shy from the work. However, someone needs to sweep up the bad threads, ban the socks, trolls, spammers and bots around here don't they?
