Especially at a place known to be a source of controversy.

We know for sure, according to bama,that one was inside the clinic blazing away with his leally obtained gun that would not have been in his hands if his ex-wife had pressed charges.

It was also reported, as far back as Friday, that he was shooting at people fleeing the building and running to the bank for cover.

Are you aware that in any given area where open or concealed carry is legal only about 5% do so. Also it seems that while the cops were not there in mass at the outset that cops were there fromthe begining.
Want to belive it or not you have to show there were people there carrying before you can address their actions don't you. I am not going to try to explain actions of people when
A We don't know what they did.
B we don't even know if they were there.
BTW I found out this week that putting spikes in a baseball bat is against the law in CA.

An emergency call placed moments before Saturday's shooting rampage in Colorado Springs has sparked intense debate on how police should respond to armed people in public given Colorado's open carry law.

Naomi Bettis told The Denver Post she called 911 after spotting her neighbor, 33-year-old Noah Harpham, armed with a rifle on the street. She says a dispatcher explained Colorado allows public handling of firearms.

Harpham went on to kill three people.
This one just under four weeks later..worse.

I disagree. Those who advocate gun rights don't expect to act as defenders of the public when law enforcement isn't on site.

They do expect to be able to defend themselves, if need be.

Most gun owners keep their weapons in their homes. Concealed carry is practiced by a very small percentage of gun owners.

Most gun owners are not expecting to be deputized and join a posse that will ride out at dawn to catch some outlaw, regardless of what you might think.

Words of an officer during the siege. Chilling...but wrong. The weapon was later identified as an "AK-47 STYLE" weapon. A big difference. One is fully automatic, the other is not. And the latest from the news is this:

NBC News reports that Colorado Springs gunman used an “AK-47 style” firearm, which is similar to an AR-15 inasmuch as it is a semi-automatic firearm. A semi-automatic fires one bullet every time the trigger is pulled, whereas an automatic weapon fires repeatedly once the trigger is suppressed.

Latest from the police is this:

Police say in a statement Sunday that they are sealing the warrants related to the case against 57-year-old Robert Lewis Dear. They say they are not providing information on the weapon used in Friday's shooting, a timeline of events or a motive of the suspect.

It seems that the man dedicated to an anti abortion stance became so frustrated at not being able to kill the abortionists that he shot the minister leading the pro life protest that was going on outside the PP.
Of course since the minister is prolife he is responsible for the attack so I guess him being shot is justice.

The difference is that before they had even captured the fruitcake Pesident Obama was lying about how people are running around like him using military weapons and how we had to put an end to it. This thread started off with people ignorantly ranting about how easy it is to get assault weapons . We have a nut who hated everyone and everything and the goal by some people is to brand anyone, including the cop who died trying to stop this, who is pro life as responsible for this attack. And to brand every gun owner as a gun nut who will now, and I quote, "face the wrath" of the rest of the nation.
