ORIGINAL: JVoV There was no evidence of murder. The police knew that at the scene. The prosecution knew it at trial. And the jury knew it when they returned a verdict. We all know that the televised court proceedings only came about because of pressure from the community, the media, and the DoJ probably with a nudge from the Obama Administration. Zimmerman killed Treyvon. He never denied that. Whether he really did it because Treyvon went for the gun, or because he was tired of getting his ass kicked is difficult to say. Either way, in that moment he believed his life was in danger, and acted accordingly. But there can be no doubt that Treyvon was being stalked through the neighborhood. He had done nothing to deserve that. If you guys can't even put yourself in his place for a moment, and really think about what you would have done, then there is no point of continuing this conversation. I have been on the Zimmerman side of the equation, and they quickly gave an explination of why they were doing something that looked suspicious. Zimmerman never left the sidewalk so stalking, pursuing and simular discriptions of his actions are incorrect. There is no question that Martin was being observed, there is also no question but what Zimmerman made to attempt to close with him. If you go wandering through peoples back yards at night you can bet someone will be suspicious of your intentions. He didn't deserve to die for that and he wouldn't have if he hadn't attacked Zimmerman. I have never been in Martin's situation because I don't cut through peoples yards. particularly not at night. And I wouldn't think someone paraleeing me WHILE TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE was stalking me. Bama, look closely at this map. There's a sidewalk in the "backyard". These are generally designed for foot traffic, meaning the architects of the community planned for such foot traffic. Which looks more like Martin was doing the stalking than the other way around. Of course by the legal definition stalking requires more than one incident. And nobody is going to stalk or pursue someone while talking to the police on his cell. Martin didn't deserve to die for walking on the grass, but you have to admit it was suspecious. I have never said that Zimmerman provided a text book case for how to handle this. However what it boils down to is that Martin is dead for one reason and one reason only, he attacked Zimmerman. Zimmermamn screwed up, he lost track of Martin and let him get too close. Martin screwed up worse, when he lost Zimmerman he went back to teach him a lesson. That is why he died. Making Zimmeman out to be a hero or role model is stupid, making him out to be a cold blooded murderer is even dumber, and saying he is a cold blooded murderer and thus a typical gun owner (which is what brought this up) is dumbest of all.
