How would it be if every town that has a statue of a confederate soldier in the town square, put up a building to house that statue as well as flags, banners, uniforms etc from the civil war era, thereby allowing those people who wanted to see them, examine them or even honour them to do so in peace and quiet and with nobody ( hopefully) getting offended, except those that are permanently and perpetually offended about something ?

Just an aside but I remember reading recently that there were quite a number of blacks who actually fought FOR the Confederacy. In uniform. One of Forrest's slaves actually rode with him and not just as a body servant either. He carried weapons and apparently knew how to use them very well. Maybe somebody should ask their families what THEY think of the monuments and which should remain and which pulled down ?

Check out the La home guard, the first unit in the Civil War with black officers.

I thought I was right in that Bama..............and the black who rode with Forrest was actually a sergeant. If what I read about Forrest is true, his men would have obeyed that man, black, white or brindle !!!
I also saw a video clip recently of some random black in a confederate uniform, standing at the outskirts of some southern town, welcoming visitors in by waving a battle flag around. He said his ancestor had fought for the south and he was proud of that.

Did you know that the Union version of Andersonville (it was in Chicago) had a policy of killing any black Confederate pow who showed up there, as per the History Channels "the Norths Andersonville" , from back when they did real history and not junk.

I would be quite interested in seeing some validation for that memory.

I have read several biographies on forrest but never read that. Could you direct me to the one you read that in.

He carried weapons and apparently knew how to use them very well. Maybe somebody should ask their families what THEY think of the monuments and which should remain and which pulled down ?

Yes I would be very interested in seeing the validation on that.

That is a sack of shit you have been shown to be lying about. So why are you repeating the lie?
