What's in it for us is seeing fewer Americans killing each other. Astonishing as it may seem, most of us don't like to hear of Americans killing each other. Not addressing you, TJ - but sometimes it flabbergasts me that gunsters here will scramble around for any explanation for why we'd be arguing against gun-ownership in the USA *other* than that, the most blindingly obvious, one.

So you agree that you are trying to sell us on gun control. And that the mouse was just blowing smoke.

I'll argue for gun control, yes. Not so much, these days, mind you - because as TJ says, it's so often a forlorn task. As I've come to recognise, gun-ownership in the USA has an ideology behind it like none other in the world - it's next to impregnable. However, 'selling' it implies that there's something to be gained - but for me the motive is altruistic, whether you or any other gun fan believes it or not.
