ORIGINAL: Greta75 Okay, refer to page 12 of Pew Research HERE Robert Spencer is a reliable author to me. I know he doesn't sprout fake sources. It could just be a dead link. In addition, the survey finds that younger Muslim Americans – those under age 30 – are both much more religiously observant and more accepting of Islamic extremism than are older Muslim Americans. Younger Muslim Americans report attending services at a mosque more frequently than do older Muslims. And a greater percentage of younger Muslims in the U.S. think of themselves first as Muslims, rather than primarily as Americans (60% vs. 41% among Muslim Americans ages 30 and older). Moreover, more than twice as many Muslim Americans under age 30 as older Muslims believe that suicide bombings can be often or sometimes justified in the defense of Islam (15% vs. 6%). A pattern of greater acceptance of suicide bombing among young Muslim Americans corresponds with the Pew Global Attitude Project’s findings among Muslims in Great Britain, France, Germany and Spain. I also love how this survey confirms my opinion that the more religious observant a Muslim is, the more likely they got terrorist tendencies! Thus my point, I feel safest with Muslims who eat pork! Survey also implies, Attend mosque more regularly = more extremism. Which I agree too! Firstly, 15%, vs 6% believe that suicide bombings can be justified in defense of Islam? That means absolutely nothing. I bet if we asked random people if they would lay down their lives for America they'd say yes. Half the people here would, lets face it. What is the logical difference between someone willing to die for their country and someone willing to die for their culture? Secondly, the survey does NOT imply that. Religious fundamentalism has found to be a negative predictor of terrorism (when one looks at actual terrorists instead of handing out surveys). Thirdly, the fact is that Spencer talks hate speech and nothing else. That you find it at all agreeable says a whole lot about you personally. Fourthly, I am disgusted with myself for getting involved in this thread. Really. I have an aversion to lies, and that's a personal problem I think, but in this case what the fuck am I doing? I am basically talking to someone who has a twig on his head and is claiming to be a tree. It doesn't matter how many times I counter with fact, logic, or even a basic appeal to humanity this individual only becomes more convinced of his treeness. WHY AM I DOING IT? Fifthly, somebody please stop me.
