Its interesting that you think there are no surveys or studies that say that.
It says a lot about you - that just because you are ignorant on a subject, you presume others are dishonest.

While a quick google search doesn't find the exacts studies (which included average number of sex toys by party) they support the general contention.

Having sold sex toys for 15 years internationally, including sex toy home parties, clubs, pubs and shows, I think I might know a little bit more than ignorance.
You extrapolated from my laughter what I was thinking LMAO assss-umming again You want to make dildos and ted cruz about republicans having more/better/buy sex toys. thats what is so dishonest, Sexuality and exploration of it is NOT tied to bloody political ideology.
*shakes head sadly*

It's probably just a preemptive strike against the orange dildo he's in competition with for the Republican nomination.

Dildos aside he just comes off as terribly slimy and dishonest. I can't understand the allure of supporting him.
It's not allure so much as the fact that sheer Republican stupidity has given them a choice between Ted Cruz and billionaire orange monkey with tiny hands and an even tinier brain.

Basically Ted Cruz is better than an orange monkey... but only just.

And Democrat stupidity has given them a choice between a 72 year old, never before been a democrat, who honeymooned in the Soviat Union while they were still putting citizens in the gulags and a money grubbing hag who is a lying friend of Wall Street. What's your point? Or is your point just to think up slurs about people you don't like?

Speaking of dishonesty, attached cite does not actually state what cruz's position on dildos is. It only says that as solicitor general he defended a law. Personally, I want a solicitor general to do his job regardless of his personal feelings on any particular law. Don't you?

What kind of lawyer takes up silly cases against sex toys, unless he believes in it!

I mean, it's not even a respectable case!

And the fact that they try to mentioned this point, is clearly not necessary for their defense, as since when is it a government role to discourage sex that doesn't lead to pro-creation? But their personal views!

the government had a legitimate role to play in "discouraging prurient interests in autonomous sex and the pursuit of sexual gratification unrelated to procreation.

Greta,

He was the solicitor general of texas. Its his job to defend laws in court. Once a bill is signed into law, the solicitor general represents the state in defending the law (should any defense be needed) before the courts.

The fact that he did so says nothing about his personal beliefs. So until you find something where Ted says - I'm opposed to dildos, you can't really comment on his personal beliefs. Mind you - he might have expressed an opinion. I don't know it.

Keep in mind that according to multiple studies - republican women own more dildos and have more orgasms than democrats. Of course, I'm not sure ted knows that.

I've heard that and I also understand, Jewish republican women are the real hot ticket. (I think it was Gallop)

But hey, none of you darlings (all subsets and politics) need any dildos at all. Just come to Mr. Rodger's neighborhood...I got something for you. Yep, each and everyone of you. Operators are standing (sitting) by.

I apologize if this sounds like I'm hijacking the thread. Trying to keep it within the topic originally created...

I have wondered how individuals that do BDSM but hold politically conservative handle what would be an obvious contradiction to other politically conservative individuals. The 'Ted Cruzs' and other 'christian' conservatives would seem to be opposited to any sort of BDSM activity in any community or state. Even creating laws to effectively ban it. If you do not believe they would go to such lengths; then look no further to North Caroline's recent attacks on the GLBT community.

Libertarians and liberals are 'OK' with BDSM for the most part. Moderates flip-flop depending on how close they are to conservative or liberal viewpoints in politics.

As conservatives whom do BDSM; do you ever get attacked by other conservatives? You know, the one's that think sex is only for pro-creation and one should not have sex for fun?

On topic: If Rafael Edward Cruz (that's his real name) becomes the GOP's nomination, he will metaphorically become the dildo that fucks the GOP out of existence!

I have no recollection of the last non hijacked thread on here happyfeet. It is my belief if you originally address OP with even a ye or nae then it becomes valid and non hijacked and you can get around to tar and feathering the more troubled basket cases on here. you are on topic ;) therefore i will listen and make my way through your contribution whilst huffing medical ether.

Like urchins of wretch who infer, by the medium, never any credible median, by delusional collusion there is a god-->crustaceans hobgoblins and christians--->gun carnage-->everything that follows is completely made up guff but must be truth

Do not misuse words like Libertarians and liberals, I know you have a brain,Malleus Maleficarum You can do better, i concede you may deliberately have done that as I know I can be very deliberate on almost all my words and actions. I am not sure I have ever made a difference, anywhere.

But here is what I see Stoning - Monty Python's Life of Brian

But to stoop to your words I am led to believe the right like to fiddle with kiddies and have their balls trampled on with sharp heels, more statistically than the left

Just trying to have 'something' in here about the original topic. Can't believe I'm defending Cruz about the matter but, yes. In law, there are going to be times you have to argue cases that you might not personally agree with at all. You're arguing points of law. That's the job.

OK. Forum requirement fulfilled.

I appreciated the links. I can get various forums of curiosity about a number of things. Maybe it's because we're back (again) to so much debate about what people do with their sex lives that it's kind of funny that people care. And, there was more than one study on who owns what toys in relation to what political party. It was amusing, to me, anyway.

Lucy, I'm not surprised you got higher sales from the online store during that time. While it wasn't a statewide ban, Augusta GA kept the one place that sold sex toys in the city from opening it's doors for eight years. Lucky me, I lived there for part of that time. It was either shop while in Atlanta, go across the state line to SC, or do online. You could buy certain 'junk' items from places like Spencers but if you wanted even a simple vibrator, you'd better know somebody doing a Passion Party or something like that. X-Mart finally got to open in 2010. http://www.wrdw.com/home/headlines/94219304.html

Agreed, that he defended the law is no issue. However, he seemed to do it in a really stupid manner, his "arguments" are ludicrous. Of course that may have been deliberate, it could well be that he didn't really want to defend the law so made the argument for it really fucking dumb, sort of as a way to both satirize the supporters of the law and to make sure his defense failed. But I doubt it.

uch better.
Ted Cruz refused to answer eight direct questions Thursday about whether or not he’d support personhood bills – legislation that would give Constitutional rights to fertilized eggs – despite pledging to support it last year.

“I told you I’m not going to get into the labels, but what I will say is we should protect life. But I’m not interested in anything that restricts birth control,” he said after being pressed at length by Chuck Todd in the MSNBC town hall that will air in full Thursday at 8 p.m. “And I’m not interested in anything that restricts in vitro fertilization because I think parents who are struggling to create life, to have a child, that is a wonderful thing.”
Chuck Todd, to his credit, made a valiant effort to get a straight answer out of the Texas senator. Cruz, an experienced lawyer, wouldn’t budge.

And we know why. Last summer, en route to picking up an endorsement from a far-right group, Ted Cruz signed a pledge promising to “support a personhood amendment to the U.S. Constitution.”

As Right Wing Watch reported at the time, the document the Republican presidential candidate signed affirmed the belief that “a continuum of human life and personhood begins at the moment of fertilization.” By endorsing the pledge, Cruz gave his word to protect “the civil rights of the pre-born at an embryonic or fetal level.”

In practical terms, as long-time readers no doubt recall, we’re not just talking about a policy that bans abortions – though that’s part of it. “Personhood” policies also put at risk common forms of birth control.

What’s more, this wasn’t the first time Cruz expressed support for these kinds of policies. The far-right senator voted against a measure to protect workers’ access to contraception in 2014, and in 2013, he referred to common forms of birth-control as “abortifacients.”

And so we’re left with something of a contradiction. On the one hand, Ted Cruz says he isn’t interested in “anything that restricts birth control” or IVF treatments. On the other hand, Ted Cruz has publicly pledged to try to change the United States Constitution to protect embryos as Americans with civil rights, which would very likely restrict birth control and IVF.

How does Cruz reconcile the competing positions? By saying he doesn’t want to talk about it.

One can personally be in favor of something, and nonetheless not work toward a goal. I am pro-life. But I understand that there is no political room in the country right now for that position. It is therefore more important to find political common grounds in areas we can make progress on.

Castigate cruz or trump for their legitimate positions. It isn't necessary to make shit up.
