For all those folk confused by the bewildering maze the public plumbing system has become due to the activities of deviants, here's some reassuring news:

Its amazing Tweak, I posted that a ways back and nobody watched it:) quell surprise.

Apparently the DOJ pissed off McCrory by saying the NC law was a civil rights violation, so he is now suing the DOJ.

North Carolina To Sue Justice Dept. Over Challenge To Bathroom Law
The law, which went into effect in March, requires transgender people to use public bathrooms corresponding to the sex on their birth certificate.

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R)
WASHINGTON, May 9 (Reuters) - North Carolina officials sued the U.S. Justice Department on Monday after the department challenged the state’s law on public restroom access for transgender people, accusing the agency of “baseless and blatant overreach.”

The department’s top civil rights lawyer, Vanita Gupta, last week sent three letters to North Carolina officials, saying the law was a civil rights violation.

It is the newest chapter of a fast-evolving fight over rights for transgender Americans. The law, which went into effect in March, requires transgender people to use public bathrooms corresponding to the sex on their birth certificate.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory and the state’s secretary of public safety sued Gupta as well as U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch for their “radical reinterpretation” of federal civil rights law in federal district court in North Carolina.

Justice Department officials declined to comment on Monday.

If the state does not pull back from implementing the first-of-its-kind statute on Monday, it could face a federal lawsuit, according to the Justice Department letters.

McCrory said in a Sunday interview with Fox News that he had asked the department to extend the Monday deadline, but was told that he could only have the extension if he would admit that the law was discriminatory.

“I’m not going to publicly announce that something discriminates, which is agreeing with their letter,” he said in the interview.

The department declined to say whether it would take legal action if the state stands by the law, but the letters suggest it is willing to do so, setting the stage for a potentially costly court fight over an issue that has already sparked several boycotts against the state.

Does the state allow transgender people to change the sex on their birth certificate?

I kid you not. My son and his girlfriend took me out to lunch for Mother's Day.
We discussed quite an eclectic assortment of topics and inevitably stumbled into the gender and bathroom controversy. My son, bless his heart, looked at me and said, "I don't want my girlfriend in the bathroom with a dude."

I told him, "Honey, I've been using the public restrooms for damn near 50 years and I haven't once seen anyone's genitalia. I'm pretty certain your girlfriend won't either. If she does, she's probably the one behaving inappropriately."

His girlfriend spewed whatever oriental food she was eating all over the table.

Does anybody foresee an explosion in the fake document industry? I mean, let's face it, the guards standing at bathroom doors aren't likely to be intellectual giants and I would not presume that there's going to be massive competition for their jobs. It can't be difficult for somebody to knock out a bit of paper with the appropriate box ticked for the sole purpose of getting past a toilet guard, can it?

From looking into the matter when I wrote a prior post on this thread, North Carolina will change the gender on a birth certificate only with proof (a doctor's statement) that GRS has been completed. I didn't find anything about applying to the court for prior to that, including all other hormone treatments, breast augmentation, etc.

That's not the case in all states. Some states will allow a person to petition the court prior to GRS surgery if certain conditions can be met. (Basically, you have to prove you are at some stage of transition, already living full time as the gender you are transitioning to, statements from your medical professionals, etc.)

Yeah, I can see that happening. Hell you can get fake ID for drinking ages anywhere. They have shops here in town that sell them openly.

Thanks for that LP
So in the end it all comes down to genitalia. Rather sad really.

Most excellent point.....snickers:)
THe only time I went to the bathroom and saw genitalia was at a munch, (outside of kink events or clubs where its normalish)
We went with the express reason of seeing some awesome purple marks on thighs and ass. She had the most incredible long spiral going from her knee up and around her thigh up to the lower "lip" and over her ass
It wasnt a "public" as in having other users, it was a small pub and we had the whole place.

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Keep Our State Straight. GOP AG. (5/9/2016 12:58:29 PM)

Well, I should clarify. I HAVE seen genitalia in the bathroom, BUT it was consensual and at a play party. Which was none of their business lol!

I have often wondered about urinals. I mean, I assume they still have to use stalls for the messier (Please oh please don't disabuse me of this belief) business so why urinals at all?
Having stalls seems way more civilized, and the issue of genetalia shouldn't be an issue.

in Germany, you piss against a wall and it runs in a trough cut in the floor.

Lol. My sister said that in Russia there were these holes in the ground you just squated over. I could feel her culture shock emanating from the letter she sent me.

ETA which made me think of the three sea shells on Demolition man.

Yep ... I've seen those in France.

As for urinals: no, they're for No 1s only. You learn not to look at other people's todgers very early in life. Most blokes just stare rigidly at a spot on the wall, their eyes unwavering. Not very pleasant: I usually use a cubicle if one's free.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Keep Our State Straight. GOP AG. (5/9/2016 5:47:31 PM)

Maybe they could hire the people who flunked out of TSA/Airport security school to be the 'bathroom police'.

Ever wonder why there are always lines at the woman's restroom...and not at the men's...well it is because men use urinals... there is your answer

ThatDizzyChick -> RE: Keep Our State Straight. GOP AG. (5/9/2016 8:13:46 PM)

Actually it is because you can fit a lot more urinals into the same space, so in a small bar there may be two stalls in the women's and 1 stall and 4 urinals in the men's.

I figured it was our penchant for going to the bathrooms with our besties.

Just...wow.

For those opposed to allowing transgendered individuals to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with, I question if they truly understand what transgendered people are asking. Chances are some of those who are opposed have already shared a public restroom with a transgendered person and never even knew it. I can understand the concern of those who worry that children may be "exposed", but only from the point of view of protectiveness and not from one of concurrence. As LadyPact mentioned, a transgendered person is more likely to have fear/anxiety than non-trans people in choosing a restroom.

Generally speaking, it's been my experience that no one flaunts their naked bits in a women's public restroom, locker room...eor even the women's restroom in a nightclub during gay men's night where some of the guys felt more comfortable using the women's restroom. And I can almost guarantee that a transgendered female is not going to expose themselves in the women's restroom. And it's even less likely that a transgendered man would expose themselves in a men's public restroom.

Unfortunately I do believe that the opposition stems from unfounded fears, lack of education and/or lack of acceptance than truly reasonable argument.

As a side note, and I apologize in advance for the derail, but DaddySatyr, you directed a personal attack towards LadyPact that in my observation is not true. LadyPact isn't one to lie. Of the posts of hers that I have read, I find her responses to be rather even-handed. I cannot say the same of the posts of yours that I have read, although I admit that, until this thread, I have largely avoided reading your posts over the last several months because I find your overall tone to be distasteful.

Thank You!
