It seems to me that in survival of the fittest there are the weak and the strong. There are weak dominants and strong submissives. The end game is to get what you want… the strong do the weak may not. I think success in life, which is the ultimate measure, has little to do with dominant or submissive personalities. Yes you have Genghis Khan but you also have Gandhi… you have Mohammad but you also have Buddha…Strength is not the purview of the dominant only.

Not in my experience, lol. The few people I have dated talk to about it think I have serious issues, that I'm a doormat for controlling men (but controlling in the abusive contect), and I'm obviously not right in the head for "putting up with it". Absolute ignorance.

What do you think?

I think you are pretty much correct. There are even some members of kink sites that think such things as dominant women do not actually exist and who view submissive men as absolutely revolting.

I think that's all to do with insecurities.

As to the topic - In the outside world away from all of this both men and women who are seen to be submissive are widely frowned upon. It doesn’t matter if its consensual kink, if you’re not into it, its likely you don’t understand it and your opinion is formed on your own moral principles.

Within the scene I believe submissive men have it far harder than submissive men. Whilst female submissives are prized, male submissives will still get mocked, spurned and ridiculed by a fairly large audience of female submissives, fem Dommes and male Dominants. Male submissives are more disposable than female ones.

Funny - I always expected that before I got involved, but have hardly ever experienced it, all these years - here, online in general, or in real time. I have probably as many femsub friends as I have femdom friends. I think I actually have more maledom friends than malesub friends.

All very odd. Perhaps the thing to do is be who you are and forget about the plonkers.

It all depends if you can get out, get known and get respected Peon. There are some very well known and prized male subs in the London clubs and munches. Not many but enough to make a positive mark on the scene. One thing they aren't is shy, sleazy, easily intimidated, possessive or needy. What they are is friendly, interested, willing, charming and unassuming. Edited to say... and confident.

Sadly, you get fuckwits who can't tell confidence from arrogance, who think that there's no such thing as a confident sub of either sex. Pathetic, isn't it?

(The difference between confidence and arrogance, for those who care, is that arrogance is unsubstantiated and unearned. If you can back it up, then it's confidence.)

I most generally agree with this -- but I don't think being submissive is a mark of distinction for women either.

On the other side, dominants might be considered: abusive, arrogant, or demented. Anyone who does not conform to general norms is fair game for general scorn -- hence why folks seek an individual partner who uniquely clicks with them.
