Oh dear Greta, you really need to study some Christian history if you think that Christians haven't claimed God's command as justification of however many atrocities. And also just read the link I provided you with to see that some of them are still doing it.

They claim it's God's wrath. But literal interpretation of Christianity does not have God commanding them to directly kill.

There are no ten commandments like thou shall not kill in Islam.

So my point is, A good Christian, don't play God and leave judgement up to God. NO Christian will claim that, they are ordered by their God to kill and that it is the duty of a Christian to kill.

A good Muslim executes Allah's judgement, on behalf of Allah. Many fundamental Muslims literally say, it is their duty by orders of their Allah to Kill. And moderate ones who cannot execute, feel guilty about not doing it, admits it is their duty, but they just can't do it.

Fundamentally, I cannot see how Islam advocates peace, UNLESS people become bad Muslims and disobey ALL Muslims rules, which is how I view every single moderate Muslim. That's why I say a Muslim who drinks alcohol and eat pork is my friend and I will feel less threatened by this person from wanting to kill me. And, I would love for people to statistically research this. Find out if there is any Muslim terrorists who eats pork and drink alcohol at all. I bet they will find zero. Both combos necessary.

Whereas if Christians follow Christians rules of ten commandments as well Jesus's Turn the Other Cheek. Everything will be fine. IF Christians want to disobey those rules, they kill.

That's the difference.

Are these religious nuts living under a rock or what ? For one, back in 2001 there was no issue yet of gender neutral bathrooms. People were just getting over don't ask don't tell. Don't these idiots even have the intelligence to know that what happened after cannot affect what happened before ? What's next, Gays in the US military caused WW2 ? Fucking idiots, and I mean that literally. That means a fucking IQ of 0-25. Notice they don't give IQ tests much these days.

But let's go to the whole thing here. I mean really. You are a Christian, go to church, have 2.3 kids and faithful to your Wife, work and don't steal nor do alcohol or drugs to excess, volunteer once in a while and are a good neighbor and a good friend.

Now we have this omnipotent being that is totally pleased with how you conduct your life, and this omnipotent being is going to punish YOU for the acts of others.

And why is this ? Well I can only figure two things. Either he is a stupid motherfucker and all he can do is cause floods n shit, but doesn't have the ability to attack a certain group with some disease. Like Tay Sachs or sickle cell.

Or is it possible that he is punishing you for not killing his defectives ? Animals eat their young, so I wonder just how a future transexual smells at birth so we can tell and fry em up for dinner.

Why did he make them, just to satisfy your urge to kill and now is pissed off you did not take advantage of his gift ?

I am serious, even capitulating that there is such a guy in the sky, why ? Makes no sense. He makes "defectives" so we can have fun killing them ?

Some of them say AIDS is god's wrath, but wait a minute. While it is true that anal sex is more likely to transfer it, what about if I fuck a girl up the ass ?

And these are the same assholes who will feed starving people in Africa but not give them what they really need - contraceptives. This logic, let's see here, you motherfuckers are all starving to death, well here is some food. Now go home and fuck. And in a few years the 12 of you will be 144, and then 1,728, and so on and so on and so on. The 12 would have starved but you fed them. Now 1,728 are starving. This is good ?

I hate to make this analogy but here goes. You know how some people have roaches and others don't ? Well the ones who don't actually do, you would be hard pressed to find even the nicest mansion out there without one single cockroach in it. Almost anywhere. But when you "have" roaches is when you are feeding them. You are leaving shit out, spilling it on the floor and not mopping it up, shit like that. Keep everything put away and it is not just that they don't come out, it is they cannot breed as fast. But this religion, say like CCF, they just want more and more people regardless of the consequences to the rest of us. They are wrecking the planet just as bad as Bill Gates with his fucking vaccines.

They have interpreted the Constitution so as to say that freedom of speech does not mean you can yell "Fire" in a crowded theater. Of course that is because of people's stupidity which has gotten so bad that now on black Friday they have to be penned up or they will trample each other to death for a fucking TV set. Well how about we interpret something written much earlier ? Let's say that "Be fruitful and multiply" is DONE when you get to seven fucking billion people. The product is sufficient.

"Hi god, hey we done multiplied our asses off, what now, divide ?".

Well we have certainly done that.

Some of the rituals practiced or venerated by sections of the faithful would make any self respecting masochist weep with envy. The crucifixion can be interpreted as one long S&M session. Is there as sadist whose heart doesn't flutter when they hear the Biblical phrase "weeping and gnashing of teeth"? And injunctions for ritual self denial and orgasm control are familiar to many in the kink scene. I could go on but I am sure you are getting the picture by now.

So, if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, they must really like us though I suspect most of them would be loathe to say so.

Emma kinda surprised you took this in that direction. But now that you mention it, looking at the Bible (not literally right now) it seems people have gotten the idea that sex for any purpose other than reproduction is bad. Onan spewed his seed on the ground and that is supposedly bad. But on further examination it seems god wanted him to impregnate some Woman and produce, well, I dunno. He didn't. So the religious assholes took this to mean that masturbation is bad, but IIRC it was just a case of pulling out. I don't remember after all these years, especially after dispensing with most of those beliefs.

And it says Man shall not lay with Man. Well, those laws only apply to Jews. How many Jewish homosexuals are there ? And Leviticus was totally insane. Either that or so cryptic that nobody could understand. Like the two cloths thing. WTF. Why the fuck would god care what the hell you are wearing ? It is possible he is saying something else, but dammit, why not just come out and say it ?

Maybe like Nostradamus he was afraid because of the rule at the time. But that doesn't make sense if he was writing the laws.

I criticize her because she's using the deaths of 3,000 people--some of whom my family and I knew--to score a "gotcha" in the culture wars. I find that appalling, particularly since she's doing it in the name of my faith tradition.

I understand where she's coming from in terms of theology and Scripture, but I don't agree with her position. I'm not sure Jesus would either (e.g., Mt 5:44-46). And the authors of Job and Ecclesiastes almost certainly wouldn't.

I'm trying to recall a time when you urged such understanding solicitude of a perspective from the other end of the theo-political spectrum.
