If the rifle is like an AR, which I would have to presume it is, it is absolutely not difficult or time consuming to reload. It takes seconds, even in the dark. In a right handed stance, you take your right hand off the pistol grip, push the button on the right side (magazine release) which is located such that you can have your hand wrapped around the empty magazine to pull it out. You pull it out, if you're in a combat situation as the shooter was, you throw it on the floor. In the same motion, you reach up to your vest, where the magazines are already oriented for insertion, slide one out, smack the back of it on something, I use my leg, to push the rounds to the rear, then shove it in the magazine well and give it a little spank on the bottom to make sure it's locked. Push the button on the left (slide lock), if you didn't empty the previous mag, you don't even have to do that. Tap rack bang, you're ready to rock. With just a little practice, it takes less time than it did to read that. I find firing left handed even easier.
