Status: offline 		Last week a 42 year old woman was shot then repeatedly stabbed, by some raving idiot who was yelling "Britain First!" as he was doing it.

The 42 year old woman in question was Jo Cox. A mother of two and the most vocal supporter of Britain taking in refugees. She helped with publicity for the White Helmets (an organisation helping rescue people from Syria). She had also worked for Oxfam and launched the All Party Parliamentary Fiends of Syria group, a bi-partisan effort to make helping Syrians more politically acceptable.

The murderer was a man called Thomas Mair. A 52 year old man, who apparently had links to several far-right groups. But so far the UK press has not called him a terrorist.



Whe he was asked his name in court he said "Death to traitors"

A 77 year old guy who tried to stop Mair is still in hospital but it looks like he is going to be ok.

Here in the UK we're having a referendum on EU membership, but our right-wing nutjob media has made it basically about an invasion of Muslims rather than an economical question:

I really feel there should be a law against media organizations making shit up and then claiming it is news.

Status: offline 		It should be added that "Britain first" is not just some phrase but an extreme right party in the UK; they label themselves as "a patriotic political party and street defence organisation."

"Defence" is obviously euphemism for violent assault.

Not just that. I was hoping to provoke a few people into thinking that maybe, just maybe, acts of savage brutality and hate can come from people of any colour, religion, or political leaning.

I can see that hope was somewhat in vain.

I was also hoping a few people might have followed a few of the links and thrown a few dollars/pounds/euros at the White Hats. I've give a few quid myself but they could always use more.

The pissing people off is a guilty pleasure sometimes though, I have to be honest.

If someone who is politically opposed to your beliefs, a "leftist", is killed you really don't give a shit do you? It means abolutely nothing to you that a woman in politics has been assassinated by someone who despises what she stood for (helping those who need help). It's just "so what"?

Only one person was killed, and the person who stopped this guy was a 77 year old male.

Had this nutter been equipped with an assault rifle this could have been a whole lot more bloody and tragic. Come on that ones a no-brainer.

As long as you cant pin it on a white crazy christian republican. He will use every excuse to wriggle out of seeing the big picture. You just have to look into the archives of this site to see and read the threads on gay marriage, transgender bathrooms and various shootings arguing that white terrorists dont exist unless they are left wing.

The fact that the killer in the UK is a white right wing nazi loving asscrack, will only lead to offering up bullshit just like the boing boing article claims
