there are many more---radio stations, tv stations, and online newspapers.

And yet none of these say anything that BamaD claimed.

he claimed this: "Nancy Pelosi reiterated that point, saying Democrats would continue the sit-in “until we have a bill.”"

I cant speak to why so many of those radio/station sites don't have it. its possible their content is removed by the next day and that the pages are cached. however, the links would not show up on a search using the quote, and having the exact quote in the page description, if they (the pages with the quote) did not exist. I visited the Toledo blade site for instance and it noted the story was gone.

here's one that's presently working:

quote:

Numerous Democrats, asked repeatedly when they planned to leave, said they would stay in place until they got a vote on gun control. In a roundtable with reporters later in the day, [so numerous people heard this] House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi reiterated that point, saying Democrats would continue the sit-in “until we have a bill.”

That is not at issue. The whale is undoubtedly one of the largest mammals alive today. That is not at issue. Both are common knowledge and unremarkable, and of no opposing view (fact or fiction). Yeah, there is a sit in there is video and all that stuff, yes Nancy Pelosi said that, but CNN did not say:

quote:

original: BamaD
This according to CNN, that is not demanding a vote that is demanding passage.

I quoted the lie. You saw it.

Yet we do not have this CNN article anywhere to be found.

No such thing, according to CNN. But it is 'cut and pasted'.

What about due process?

I think it's worth noting that the ACLU is with the Republicans on this.

“We disagree with Speaker Ryan about many things. But he’s right that people in this country have due process rights,” wrote Hina Shamsi, the director of the ACLU’s National Security Project. “We want to see them respected.”

I don't know what's pending, but they've had at least one ruling in their favor.

"...in April 2015 a separate case filed by the ACLU succeeded in compelling the government to at least inform U.S. citizens whether they were on the no-fly list or not."

What do you think "we are staying here till we get a bill" means anyway?
It doesn't mean anything other than that they are demanding a bill being passed. They didn't say till it is voted on one way or another they said TILL WE GET A BILL.

If we baned people on watch lists that would have included Al Gore, John Kerry, and MLK, all of whom made it to one watch list or another plus anyone Nixon didn't like. Plus with the Collins "comptimise" you would have to prove that you don't belong on the list, turning due process on it's head.

How is any of that a response to my post?

Because if politicians really wanted to "make a difference" they'd try to ban handguns, not the AR15.

So you are comfortable now that terrorists have had their Second Amendment rights affirmed?

Considering the vitriol you have directed at terrorists in the past, it seems odd to me that you are not prepared to deny access to weapons to those terrorists whom you claim to despise.

No, I am happy that they were stopped when thier zeal to destroy thr 5th they tried to also ignore the 5th.
I want due process to be followed. If you can prove somone is a terrorist arrest them, fry them but the way the list is currently set up you can get on the list for maling what someone may think is too many trips out of the country, or because you have the same name as some one on the list. If the were taking away any right but the right to bear arms you would be outraged.
As it is this would be a violation of the due process portion of the 5th amendment which is why the ALCU is suing to have the lists abolished.

No one wants terrorists to have guns and we all agree if you're on the no fly list you shouldn't be able to legally buy a gun. However there is this aggravating little problem with the no fly list. People are on the list who shouldn't be, with no recourse what so ever to get off of it. It seems that rather than straighten out this buerocratic mess, the democrats want to make hey out of it with absurd stuff like what you posted.

The watch and no fly lists are so hahazadly put together that they are pretty much usless.

This weekend a Democratic Senator was explaining that the problem here is due process. He said that as soon as we can figure a way around due process we will be al set.

Senator Joe Manchin D from WV

It was on a number of cites the one I copied from happened to be Red State but it was far from the only one.

"The problem we have, and really the firewall we have right now is due process. It's all due process," Manchin said during a discussion on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "So we can all say we want the same thing, but how do we get there?

If a person is on the terrorist watch list like the gentleman, the shooter in Orlando, twice by the FBI, we were briefed yesterday about what happened but that man was brought in twice. They did everything they could," Manchin said. "The FBI did everything they were supposed to do but there was no way to keep him on the nix list or keep him off the gun buy list. There was no way to do that. So can’t we say that if a person under suspicion, there should be a five-year period of time that we have to see if good behavior, if this person continues the same traits, maybe we could come to that type of an agreement. But due process is what's killing us right now."

Hmmmmmm so you are still unable to give a quote, but you derail it so you dont have to admit, you bolloxed up. And you wonder why people dont take you seriously.
Oh and your comment about the "cameras went home"...

THe cameras in the hall were turned off by demand. But the whole of the sit in were shown by streaming videos from cell phones until the end of it right?

A few hours earlier, Democratic lawmakers ended a sit-in protest in the House of Representatives over guns.

Fueled by Chinese food and pizzas, dozens of them stayed on the House floor all night, at times bursting into the civil rights anthem "We Shall Overcome" before giving up their protest after 25 hours.

"It's not a struggle that lasts for one day, or one week, or one month, or one year," said Representative John Lewis, a Democrat from Georgia and a key figure in the civil rights protests of the 1960s. "We're going to win the struggle," said Lewis, who led the House sit-in.

That it was screened on facebook, periscope and Cspan when they could?
heres more ....information for you
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-florida-shooting-guns-sitin-idUSKCN0Z91ZS

Of the roughly 20 members of Congress who remained at the sit-in overnight, 19 of them used Facebook Live for a total combined viewership of 3 million.

“It really connected with people out there,” Congressman Scott Peters told Reuters. "This whole phenomenon with [live video] struck a nerve."

Peters used the application Periscope, which is connected to the social media platform Twitter, to send out video.

“Without that, think about it, it would have been a caucus meeting where we talk to ourselves," he added.
