For centuries Europeans served life at the whim of a king, we did not want that, we had a bad time with Mad George.but we still became beholding to bad corporate governments. Thats life and we shall see. Its just free market hogwash in freedom clothing no matter what you think you voted for.

this - is the massive shit-storm being kicked up by left wing nutcases who simply refuse to accept that they lost.

Of course, the driving force behind this angst is the left's refusal to accept that their socialist utopia is a fucking pipe dream.

The Yes campaign, to retain Britain’s EU membership, was dominated by both the Conservative and Labour leaderships. To add to the confusion, the right and the left split over which way they should vote. On the left, it was the socialists who campaigned against retaining its EU membership and so why you are both under the illusion that the socialist voted to remain in is rather baffling. The socialist voters are elated.

maria that seems very counterintuitive to the collectivist bent of socialists. do you have some exit polling information from the vote that shows that? and/or that elaborates on such a seeming paradoxical occurrence?

Maria is not quite right when she says: "socialists are elated". Not that we have any socialists anymore, they were culled back in the '80s.

But, I think she is talking about the left. The left vote was spilt.

But, there is a very good reason for the left to vote for leaving the EU, and that is migration of labour from poorer parts of Europe circumventing centuries of hard won worker rights.

Sorry but that is Daily Mail bullshit again. EU citizens have the same rights. Migration wasn't causing and damage as they are still subject to the same pay and condition rules.

You really are a monumental fuckin' fool.

Go and read about the history of the politics which you claim to support. The very same people who were vehemently opposed to our entry into the European Common Market back in the '70s for the very same reason that I have stated.

Until you do that, stop wasting my time.

That's fact. Employers are not allowed to undercut the min wage or offer anyone working conditions that UK citizens are not entitled to. We all know this. If you're too precious to work in the same conditions ad immigrant or for their wage levels that's your issue.

It is true that there are now more unskilled workers around which will drive down wages, but that's market forces. If you are uneducated and unskilled, immigration can become a threat.

The solution to that is for you to man up and work harder, or get an education. Asking the government to tilt things in your favour by restricting immigrants is not how the world works.

It was an unlikely coalition of conservatives from the rural shires and working class Labour voters. Probably the first time in English political history that these two groups have seen eye to eye.

that is reminding me of a scene from an old 80s (I think) movie called the rocketeer where the fbi and the mafia find themselves side by side fighting Nazis.

It aint only a movie. there was no rocketeer though, but the military needed the docks worked (though truth be told Irish run mobs in this country) the italians are stupid and talk into microphones.

Not saying I agree or disagree, suffice to say that the Tory Party would agree with your sentiment.

WickedsDesire -> RE: Brexit Vote Results (7/2/2016 12:01:06 PM)

There is a vast difference in how most of Scotland thinks to most of the engleeeshers..I will add when it comes to the EU the Northern Irish think as the Scottish do – yet the Welsh (super result last night loved it) think as the englanders do and I pisssed myself when Iceland humped englond

My words contradicts entirely
eg
1. Europeans was that the UK ow that was not the case in Scotland or NI, was it.
2. The UK wished to decline to be part of a political and legal union; waffle- sophistry actualyl and my thoughts on that are well known I refer you to point 1.
3. The UK wanted free pish...we have a sense of fairness and karma in Scotland...and NI it would appear on some occasions
4. It now turns out that Brexit may not guarantee they lied and scaremongered as is the way of the stupid and racists and homophobics and those born with arrogant errant entitlement right - they demand the world yet offer nothing in return

is the Uk better of outwith Europe
Yes because we will soon annex pungeland, as we did to amurica; 60 million years ago. And this pleases me greatly

mnottertail -> RE: Brexit Vote Results (7/2/2016 12:05:04 PM)

How about we tear down corporations and stock holding companies, because they absolutely do not work, and throw in the Tories and nutuckers to boot? People live this asswipe of buying cheap chinese or pakistani pliers that when you do grab on to a bolt break the jaw, and you got shit. Ah, but they're only 99 cents half a quid to you blokes (except not no more) But to spend say, 15 quid for a plier that will take your miserable shit for the rest of your life? Not me mate, I'm a smart shopper. Yeah. ok.

It was the old people who voted us out,
It was all those peasants who live outside London
It was white men who read the Daily Mail
It was 17.5 million biggoted stupid twats...

There is only one person to blame for this and that person is the man who decided to gamble our future to secure his position in his own party. David Cameron should go down as the most dangerous, most reckless PM this country has ever seen and yet all we seem to be getting is people misdirecting their insults at the voters.

Why is it that all of the arseholes in our country appear to post on this message board?

It is a quirk of fate that is inexplicable at this point.

But, if someone could let me know how and why all of our arseholes gravitated to this board I would be interested.

The way you lot are carrying on it wouldn't surprise me if you're one person with numerous profiles and posting out of Broadmoor.

I've been around on here since CM first opened but go ahead, try and slay me with your insults and then go off and wallow in your own self righteousness [8|]

Was there a little tear in his eye when Dave announced his resignation? GOOD now FUCK OFF.

mnottertail -> RE: Brexit Vote Results (7/2/2016 12:24:45 PM)

I still dont think Cameron realizes he is a worthless asshole, though, he certainly has not admitted to the fact. I watch BBC telly at least that much.............waiting.

Staleek . . .

quote:

The good old days of working down a mining pit like your father and your fathers father and your fathers fathers father are also long gone. People start out and, whilst it is difficult, as long as you're reasonably connected from a young age you can be a doctor, or a lawyer, or a politician, or a professor. Of course a lot of people fall through the cracks, and we need socialism to help address that, but denying the free market and capitalism hasn't improved life for humankind is obviously wrong.

It may be helpful to look at some of the precepts of neo-liberalism:
1. completely unregulated markets
2. reduction of size, financing, and power of governments
3. privatization of social institutions
4. destruction of the effectiveness of organized labor.
5. free movement of investment cash
6. the commoditization of labor to reduce Corporate costs
7. the privatization of social services, of public education, and health care.
8. the destruction of our welfare system
9. anything to shift costs away from corporations.
10 Lest we forget, the stashing of corporate and private money offshore to avoid taxation.

These are the controversies we have been dealing with in the States. Our prison systems have been privatized and monetized. Our tax supported public schools are underway to privatization with corporations dipping into the public till and taking money from our city/suburban schools, and of course the big Kahunas: old age pensions and health care are under attack. Private corporate pensions have already been pretty much destroyed by the 401K con job.

I guess we need to examine exactly and to what quantity life has been improved for mankind and at what cost progress. And at what privilege for the survivors and accumulators.

Sorry if I repeated myself in my listing above. I suspect I did.

btw, Hillary is a dud, her hubby is a doddering fool, and Trump is a clown, but Trump stands to gain in this rebellion against neo-liberalism. Gack!!!

Was there ever a referendum to go INTO the EU ? Or did the politicians of the day just take it upon themselves to go " full steam ahead and damn the torpedoes ?"
It's a long time since I left UK, or since I took any great interest in her doings, but I think I would have voted to leave if I had been there and then wait to see how the cards fell. I will admit though, there are very good points to be made for both sides of the argument.

Not to actually go in, we went in as the Government of the day thought it was a good thing, that was 2 years before the Referendum Lucy is talking about.

In those days it was just called The Common Market. The result was a 67% vote to stay in, from a similar percentage of those being able to vote actually bothering. As for as I know, then and now are the only two referendums put to the public in UK History.
