ORIGINAL: ThatDizzyChick American politics is fucking hilariously petty. It's on our news now, I'm watching it at this very moment. A load of Republicans shouting about not wanting The Don? It's no worse than any other political scene in the world and at least you have a captive audience. It's a bit like our politicians in the House of Commons. A load of bairns shouting and laughing at one another, in between falling asleep, but again at least they have a captive audience. You should try other countries: nobody actually turns up in the Parliament! Actually, US political parties are extremely petty. They will refuse to pass laws that the majority of Americans want just cuz it was presented by the other party (& even when their party was for it before). And that is much more damaging than politicians that dont show up, here its when they show up that they fuck things up.. For years now the Rs (& it pains me to say this) have tried to get a bill passed that allowed immigrant entrepreneurs (& immigrant students, etc) to get visas to start small businesses with a more reasonable amount of investment (200k or so), it was called the Startup Visa and the Ds have slammed the door shut on that... in 2010, in 2011 and in 2013.. What a bunch of shitheads.. these parties hate each other so much that they are destroying this country (& if Trump is elected Prez he will finish it off).. This is not a democracy. We don't pass laws based on mob rule...or not supposed to do so anyway. Each law is an authoritarian usurpation of people's rights and should be considered outside the will of the mob. Oh I know the US isnt a democracy, its a police state.. the ones that rule are the 1% and big corps that can buy the politicians (on both sides) to get what they want.. its a mob, but a small elite mob.. Ya, okay. Got your tin foil hat on I see.
