I've actually come to prefer the term 'car park' to the relatively bland 'parking lot.'

It also amuses me when some here stateside do not understand that the US and UK consideration of the single or plural case are not always the same.

It cracks me up when one tries to 'correct' the other.

Whatever colour or flavor.

We have to "just let go!" and understand that German and French and Italian, etc. have gone through even greater changes over the same period of time.

The one thing that puzzles me, though, is the British 'sceptical' vs. the American 'skeptical.'

I've looked it up in the Oxford dictionary, and that is the only occasion where a word starting with 'sc' followed by a vowel is not pronounced as an "s".

But then, there is that "ageing" thing too. (OK, two things.)

I don't wish to be stageing a battle here, much less wageing war, but I was at a grammar site a year ago where some British were absolutely thrashing Americans for being 'lazy' and 'stupid' in not understanding how to spell ageing.

When will all this rampageing stop?

Actually, I don't follow the guy at all. But I do find his banning very unfair. And him being gay and conservative himself, he receives as much abuse as this woman on twitter, but twitter only cares about a more popular black actress crying about it. On top of that, his "abuse" of her, wasn't even abuse.

It would be just like you getting banned for saying "bottom feeders attract bottom feeders". Because that would be ridiculous and unfair IF you got banned for it.

And personally, no matter how nasty anybody has ever been to me in this forum, I have never ever reported anybody for abuse ever.

Because I believe in their right to speak their mind. And I don't need fakey niceness. It's online, I quite like people speaking their minds.

So I am disgusted with twitter's reaction to this situation.

There seems to be a strange sort of view that whining at lefties here and in society at large about their 'political correctness' is somehow an excellent strategy for resolving the issue. It isn't. The only answer is to kick up enough fuss with Twitter to get them to change their decision. That's really all there is to it.
