at least it was just one bullet (not 8 or 10).. and he is still alive!!!
The cops are getting better!

That said, why was the shootee on the ground with his hands up and why did the shooter have his gun out?

when i first saw the headline earlier today (didnt have time to read it then) I though it was another killing.. I am glad that wasnt the case..

Three shots were fired, one hit Kinsey in the leg. He wasn't shot three times.

No argument regarding negligence. Three shots argues against 'accidental,' however.

The police had sniper rifles, one would assume with scopes.

With all the millions of federal money being thrown at police forces from Bush I onward, was the budget too low to acquire scopes capable of distinguishing a toy truck from a gun at less than 100 yards?

Even if aiming at the autistic toy truck guy, why was there any shooting at all?

I think the first test given to police recruits nowadays before being allowed into the academy is the response time when someone comes up behind them at the interview and says 'Boo!'

The latest...

UPDATE: A police union representative said Thursday that the North Miami officer, still unidentified, who fired three shots was actually aiming at a 23-year-old autistic man, who the officer believed was somehow placing behavioral therapist Charles Kinsey in danger. The representative said the officer is sorry, and wished Kinsey a speedy recovery. ~Source

I bring this up again because it now comes to attention that police procedures are obviously flawed.

They didn't even know if the autistic guy had a weapon or not, with gun scopes that presumably should have been up to the task for that determination at less than 100 yards.

Quit acting like this was a "mistake," it was obviously a training and standard procedure issue that has police shooting people without any firm conformation of there being a weapon or not.

Apparently, one must also be half deaf to get into the police academy. "He has a toy truck in his hand! A toy truck!" Kinsey says to officers who have their guns drawn.

"I'm telling them again, `Sir, there is no need for firearms. I'm unarmed, he's an autistic guy. He got a toy truck in his hand," Kinsey said.

An officer later fired three times, striking Kinsey in the leg.

My only problem with stories like that, is, there is police brutality going on to both WHITE and BLACK people, and more to white people which don't get buzz EVEN when posted.

So by only focusing on incidences of black people, does cause unnecessary racial tensions, AS IF only specifically black people are targeted.

They need to prosecute these officers who keep shooting unarmed innocent people for nothing or basically fire them from their jobs as they are clearly the panicky types who can't react calmly and shouldn't be allowed to do law enforcement especially with guns.

I want to smash the punk's (with police badge and gun) face in who screamed at my dad who can hardly walk because he tapped another car without doing a splinter of damage.
