ORIGINAL: freedomdwarf1 From what I understand, LP, her pics are scattered elsewhere all over the 'net, not so much on CS. Understood. A bit familiar with the topic. Got the t-shirt. quote:
My question is, if it were happening for real and she were that miffed or concerned by it, she could report any profile on here to support and report it to the police - they will certainly deal with it. In my experience, that's not correct. Some of it very much depends on the site and how reputable the site is to begin with. "Support" on this site, for example, hasn't always been... Shall we say, prompt, in dealing with such matters. quote:
When I've written to her before (assuming the OP is the original and also a female), the reply I've had is that they aren't bothered with it and support will do nothing - which I sincerely don't believe tbh. I'm the first one to tell you that it depends on who "Support" is. Two sites, I had great success with. Those being Fet and the former K-2. In that same time frame, would I have even bothered on this site? No. (We all know who was running the site and was "Support" at the time.) While DMCA reports can help an individual to get pics removed, there's something very important that people need to understand. If you file one, you have to accept two things: One, that report is considered a legal document and the person you filed it against has every right to the information on it. That includes your real name, your address, or any other part of the report. Basically, if you have a real life stalker, you just handed that person the key of how to find you. Two, if the Admin of the site has not signed a legally binding non-disclosure agreement, there is nothing saying said-Admin of the site will not share your information. If they do, they are covered by those neat, FCC 230 laws. Look at ToS of this site and those neat passages that say "any agent of THE SITE" will not be held liable. quote:
Typical example, I wrote her again recently when she had a profile (without the '78' on the end) and she obviously remembered who I was and promptly did the 'deleted unread' trick. I would ask you not to jump to conclusions... It doesn't mean she remembered you. It means (if it's real) she's dealing with a bunch of people that she actually knows, and won't entertain random folks dropping by her email. It doesn't mean the person doing this to her hasn't created screen name after screen name, changing one character, so at first glance, it might be misinterpreted as someone else. quote:
Her recent reincarnation for the forums, she added '78' to her old profile name that she had previously. She has used several profile names and done the self-same thing and often added newer (and similar) pics with very similar 'plea' tactics. Hence the question if this is the real OP or the clone. Oddly enough, I'm with you. I can promise you that, for a time, I *wished* MP could work with Admin instead of me. The problem is, as soon as you do that, *any* third party can, and we complicate the matter. quote:
Yanno what? I seriously thought at one point it might be a crumpets or WD sock; but the writing style is somewhT I have very little patience left for WD. The tactics are abhorrent. FFS, even this site warns against those ploys of "prove you are real" in the Help section.
