Twice in US history was a President elected that had the most votes from Superdelegates, backed by the least amount of voters. Is that your democracy? And when we try to discuss this with our US colleagues, key word is "discussed", not "criticised", they say. "this is how we do it and mind your own business." Then how come you interfere in our business? Sort out your own issues first!

But I agree that the US election really isn't our business, despite the fact that there are reports of prosecuting attorneys shooing away international observers from US polling stations. The US is a superpower and possibly the only superpower in today's day. We accept this. We would like to cooperate with the US. No matter how the elections go, there will be a new head of state with great powers. The world needs strong super power country like this, we need it too.

What we don't need is their constant interference in our business telling us how we should live and getting in the way of Europe building their relations with us. The sanctions that you mentioned, do they affect the US? Not at all, they shouldn't care less about them. Our reactionary measures in response to Europe sanctions does not affect US at all! Who do they affect? Europe! Nevertheless, the Americans tell their European counterparts to "hang in there" for a while. I do not know why they should have to, but if they want to okay, they can "hang in there".

Anyway, we don't back anyone, it's not our business. Whoever is elected by the American people, we will continue to work with. Here is hoping this individual will want to improve relations with Russia and help build a more secure world.

However, if I had to serve in a governmental position, it would be for Obama. I could be discharged and accused of all kinds of untrue crap, but at least I wouldn't be dead.

While USians forget all kinds of important shit, they seem to remember the Soviet days. Keep in mind though that they were always allies. The cold war was a ruse to get people to support the military buildup.

During those days Russian workers said "They pretend to pay us so we pretend to work". They had a horrible reject rate. The US on the other hand was paying $600 for a toilet seat.

Now the US has Chinese manufacturers doing some of the work which saves money, and the Russian workers are happy and they like Putin. They like Putin more than we like Obama, I can guarantee you that. They got jobs now and a real economy, unlike the Soviet days when you heard stories about them not being able to get a pair of stockings or whatever.

China is changing as well. As the People get more and more they are going to want more and more. They don't need guns, just the solidarity to strike. You think they aren't trained ? They who work are running and programming CNC machines and printed circuit board making equipment. You cannot just go out in the field with a net and trap a few people and put them on those jobs.

And in the meantime the US goes backwards. Eventually there will be no jobs. You got self checkouts which I REFUSE to use, there are totally automated fast food places, though they are still in prototype. Even if we had factory jobs, one can do the work of ten, what happens to the other nine ?

Actually, though Putin has done well for Russia, and no he is not a dictator, and he had help from the natural resources. He is loaded so he can't be bought and is loyal to the country, plus he is incredibly smart compared to most politicians. But he is not personally responsible or Russia's success. Alright, he did run things right and is not letting the oil companies rip the country off, but it's not like he came up with some ingenious plan that turned it all around overnight.

The Soviets were a bunch of thieves and he was one of them. The rest of them stole alot more than he did. I think he is at the point in his life where he wants to die liked by the People.

And let's not even go there right now. Venezuela literally fell apart after Chavez died. Called a dictator and "everything but a White Man" so to speak, the People liked him and he did good for the country. Did he like money and power ? Does Putin ? Well I want someone to come in here with the rank idiocy to say that the rulers of their country do not like power and money. I need a good laugh. Even Uruguay, which I think is rated one of the freest countries in the world, I bet you can't say that.

You know, you don't need a fishing license in Russia. Once you qualify with a firearm and get a hunting license it is good for life. A firearm ? Heaven forbid !

People ha e alot of misconceptions about other countries. Like that half of Iranian houses don't have running water. Bullmotherfuckingshit. And that the sanctions hurt them greatly, bullshit, China started buying their oil with gold. Bypassed the petrobuck completely.

Good. I say to the asshole US government - if you want to attack a country, attack and let the world know how much of a fucking bully you are. Then they will unite against this government. Possibly finance a revolt, maybe even participate.

You know, I have said we do not have the best weapons in the world but we have more. That matters, to have more. But then we have this other fact, those weapons are not all here. They are spread from Germany to bumfukt Egypt somewhere, and places that many people have never even heard of.

Russia has ten outside military bases, after closing four of them recently. Well they kinda lost the one in Ukraine but I think that was only a RADAR station or something like that. But the point is they do not spend a half a fucking trillion dollars defending a hundred countries while not defending their own. The US does. And congress gives the military over twice the number of planes they want or could ever use, which will be given away to other countries.

Shit, when the Israelis get ahold of a working F-35 they are going to say "Oh, we could have fixed this is a half an hour" when it took us how long ? Know why ? Because their fucking educational system works. Hopefully they'll share their information, they have in the past sometimes. But not what they did to MIGs, we don't have any MIGs except for to examine them for weaknesses. We are not buying them for use.

I am not saying Putin is the best thing since butter on bread, but you have a serious misconception about him, and I bet Russia in general. You probably think they don't have toilets there, like some people think about Iran.

This is precisely exactly the same as the dude who built Singapore into their current success.
He was very heavy handed towards oppositions.
Ends justified the means, those people would have been too disruptive for the progress he wanted for my country. In hindsight, it was necessary to achieve what he wanted to achieve and he did achieve it. The benefits outweigh the few injustice.

Russia is a much bigger country and more difficult to manage, but I believe through the years, it is moving forward to become a better country for all their citizens. As I said, seeing the way mainstream media works now, you can't get fair and balance view from their reporting ever, they always pick a side.

And you can't get a holistic picture.

There is barely any news about Putin because he doesn't even speak English it seems. So it's hard to read things about him from an alternative perspective, since English speaking media are hate filled towards him.

The only rare ones are when you can hear him speak for himself to get a feel of how he is like. And what I see is a very hard man. Ya know, military tough guy, this means that, the way he rule would be tough love too. But from my own observation of the way he talks about his own country. Love is radiating out of him for his own country. He has ideas on what is the best for the country. What happens is, not everybody will agree that his ideas are best, but also need to remember, Russia culture is different from American culture. What American think is best may not be what Russians think is best.

I mean, an American may look at our country and feel sorry for our lack of freedom of speech, but we look at America and only see that third world poverty, homelessness still exists in some areas, and that's horrible. We are happy to give up free speech to make sure everybody has a job, a home, and a decent life. We judge the decision our government makes by the quality of life that results from their decisions. Not by how much leeway or individual freedom we have. Of course if all that restriction still results in poverty and joblessness for everybody and crime ridden places, then of course, we would be unhappy, but for our situation, it has yield positive results, so that's what we value. It's very different. I always have the impression Americans would rather live in anarchy than ever give up their freedom. So in a way, they have chosen their own chaotic world. And messy government. But that's what they prefer.

Maybe you like the fact that someone can be thrown in jail for spitting on the sidewalk, but I can see the other side of the coin. you don't want other people's spit on the bottom of your shoe when you walk onto the floor of your home where your kid crawls around.

I was taught to argue. The adults did not pull rank usually, they would convince you they are right. Like "If you do that then this will happen" and the like. They even cussed, but we were taught not to cuss in school and most places.

I can understand that some people want to live under strict control. I do not. But unlike many, I can understand the point of view. You feel safer, even better in an environment that is controlled. Some people actually like jail. If you don't have an olady and don't drink, let them support you. No dealing with a boss, maybe they make you mop the floor once in a while.

I said it 30 years ago, that Russia was going to be freer and freer and the US was headed in the opposite direction and look what happened. We got more laws now, even the politicians can't understand them.

Progress. My ass.

Status: offline 		It continues to disturb me that in the Crimea situation, there was a referendum, where majority voted to reunite back with Russia, but yet again, "democratic countries" interfered and refuse to respect what majority wants. Ukraine is the real oppressor refusing to release them.

Seriously, you can't get jailed for spitting. You just get fined. And yes, I really like living in a world where I don't see people spitting everywhere in public areas. I think it's rather gross and unhygienic.

I do like law and order and when everything is fair. I like fairness. I like to see justice served. The people who harm others punished appropriately. I just like to live in a country where I can happily say, there is no corruption, and I don't feel like unfair things been happening. I feel like everything is fair. And when injustice is happening, when it is brought up to the media, something always get done about it. Our media position themselves as vigilante now.

Any injustice that is happening to anyone or anybody, it was one simple case as believe it or not, a man who was getting physically abused by his boss and tolerated it for 2 years, a colleague went to the media about his situation. The boss got prosecuted. I don't know why a man allowed himself to get abused like that, but I guess there are just some really timid people in this world who are easily bullied.

Reading our media is like seeing injustices brought up, and then, accountability, and consequences. I feel like justice is always being served. It is very rare I disagree with the crime committed and the ruling melted out.

And end of the day, if we don't like the person on top, we can still use our votes to vote against that person to unseat that person. But we like the person on top currently, so his staying there until he fucks up.

You know the things our people complain about are things I will never see Americans complain about. Like one issue I never see Americans blame their government about is making house ownership affordable. This is one big issue in our country, they believe it is the government duty to make sure everybody can afford a home of their own. Americans I *think* would never even think of this as a government problem.

The other problem people complain about is being unable to retire early in Singapore and having to work for the rest of their life. They blame this on the government.

Like what kind of unhappiness do people have in a world, where everybody is living a decent basic life ? And poverty is certainly not starving in the streets type of poverty. But not being able to afford luxuries.

Precisely these issues. Complaining about being unable to save enough to retire in their 50's and angry that people can't see any possibility of retiring at their dream retirement age.

Again these are complains I have never ever seen come out of Americans.

You get fined for spitting. If you can't or won't pay the fine I assume you go to jail. (or do you get caned ?) However, if the majority of the country wants it like that then that's the way it should be. They bitch about Putin making homosexuality illegal, but he did nothing of the sort. He signed into law a bill or whatever they call them there from parliament which made it illegal to promote homosexuality to minors. In case nobody noticed, pandering porn to minors is illegal in almost every country. In fact years ago with USC2257 they drove the porn industry out of this country and it did no good whatsoever.

You can't ever say there is no corruption. Maybe there is alot less but to believe that every government official is completely honest is unrealistic. However, the corruption is institutionalized in the US and some other places. Some years ago the head of the Chinese version of the FDA took a bribe to approve a certain drug. Seven people died. They executed him. In the US he would get richer. But other countries handle this shit differently because their governments are not owned by big business. Don't wonder why I don't but anything. If I need something I try to get it used. I SPECIFICALLY do not want to support these people who fucked up my country.

The guy getting abused by his boss, that is rare in the US. People got too much attitude for that, and that is one of the reasons why companies want to hire foreigners, they have more respect and work ethic.

The home ownership thing, well it worked a little bit different here. The government encouraged banks to make more loans to low income people. They went on TV and said you can have a $250,000 house for $565 a month. That was an introductory rate. The banks had no reason to believe wages would rise, especially when they are giving loans to welfare recipients. Now a bunch of people, especially minorities without math skills, are worse off because they cannot get credit now. They cannot rent a car. Some can't even get a bank account. Good going. That really helped them huh.

Retirement here is not all it's cracked up to be and it getting worse. The people who are getting good SS checks are the ex-business owners who hired under the table and just paid the taxes and of course the SS into their account. In the meantime their under the table employees got free medical from the government, food stamps and whatever else they could.

And some people who have been to those totally stupid economics courses say SS is solvent for a long time. Sure is, but employees have to pay 47 % and when they retire they get $125 a month and a loaf of bread is $10. Yup, that's solvent. Oh, and of course you can't retire until age 95.

Poverty is different here I guess. Maybe you don't know, but people used to pay cash for everything. But back then if the tranny went out on your car you went and got one from a boneyard for $60 and got a case of beer and your buddies would help you put it in, and of course drink the beer. Now you are looking at two grand. I know people with kickass jobs who do not have two grand on hand. So it goes on a credit card.

Actually I semi-retired long ago. Once the house was paid off... They fucked with me on the job and I said "Just wait until my house is paid off motherfucker". And they did find out, I got another job. Management will always take advantage of labor, but here we got the balls to tell them to go fuck off which is why the industry is not coming back. As long as they can go to other countries, give the employees a bowl of rice and have them say "Yessa Massa" they will never come back.

That is until we are starving. Then they'll figure they have the upper hand. they already think they do but for skilled people they don't because there are not that many skilled people here anymore. Can't run a lath, read a ruler or micrometer, know nothing even about the most basic science, mechanics and electronics. It would almost be as bad as moving a company to fucking Zimbabwe.

Specify because there are a few sources to back up my post. And it still takes the proverbial 'pound' of Rubbles to buy a dollar.' All they have is oil. If it weren't for that they'd be fucked. Putin and his cronies are corrupt thieves and T8r, do not tell me...what I think.

Per capita GDP...Russia, $14,611.....US, $53,000.

They have toilets but do they always work like mine ? Where is the great Russian car ? Computer ? Airplane ? Hungary, having a Chevy in the driveway is like having a Mercedes. Countries aren't running to join any new Warsaw Pact, they are running to join NATO. Why ?
