They are both being harmed but since I will take the coins I save there to a company that potentially treats its workers better I am tilting the balance ever so slightly in favour of small town mercantilism over corporate capitalism. Not that I care. I just know I can keep doing it without feeling guilty about it. Meaning I am not doing it to do good, I just can keep doing without feeling I am doing anything bad. But you're happy with your opinion of me because that enables you to stay ignorant of facts that would make you uncomfortable. Making you a fool and I'd much rather be an idiot than a fool for one is an affliction of low intelligence and an other the choice of someone with weak a character.

The technical term for it is 'shrink'. Inventory is counted and the difference between what is supposed to be there (inventory acquired less inventory sold) and what is actually there is called shrink. Shrink affects bonuses. Many low- wage people count on bonuses for things like Christmas presents for their children. Honestly, people leading and managing big corporations do a similar thing. They 'steal' people's bonuses by cutting back their hours for a few weeks around the time bonuses get paid. Point being... the workers always get screwed in the end.

You're right Tamaka, this happens especially in America where wages are so low. I guess it is a bit selfish not to consider that direct implication but no more selfish than so many other things we all do. Plus spending it elsewhere will mean somebody might get a really nice bonus :)

OP - I find it interesting that you say you follow shoplifters around to make them nervous - and then state that you are tender with weaker people. Sounds to me like a power rush. I just follow them around when I spot them to see if they are shoplifting and then give them a wink. I'm no saint goddamnit! I just wish you good folk would stop clothing yourselves in white robes. and throwing rocks. I'm sure some here would instead report them, acting like the righteous enforces of the absolute totality of law, ruining their weekend or month, potentially having social services take their children and what not. I don't find it funny. It's sick! Are you aware that many workers, apart from losing bonuses, would actually get their wages CUT if there are too many losses?? And there will be cases where people lose their kids because they aren't earning enough to keep them properly? Or lose their house because they can no longer afford the rent? Or can't get their kids to a doctor because they can't afford it? Because people like YOU think it's fun and get their jollies from stealing. You need to be locked up. I see nothing good in what you are doing. Nothing.
