There is an interesting book called "I was an economic hit man" If you read it it might cause you to rethink your opinions about foriegn aid.
not to be picky but I think the book you are referring to was titled:
"Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins published in 2004
In 2016 he published "The New Confessions of an Economic Hit Man"

well, I just happened to have both of them so I knew what you were talking about.. people need to be more aware of what govts (and big corporations) are doing.. especially all the stuff they want kept secret..
