I like that ^ I'm going to use that line in future.

As for the op, I don't agree you need to munch to meet a potential date but its good to get known because potential dates are often interested in your reputation. I was going to plenty of munches and clubs when I got an email on here from a man who sounded right up my street. Being a known member of the South London scene swung my decision to meet him. We ended up living together for four years. When we broke up I found another man on this site, even though I was then running a large BDSM club in London. People wanted to date me because of my involvement in the scene and I wanted a man who wasn’t trying to climb ladders. We have been married for seven years now.

The fastest way to never hear from a guy again is to send him your Amazon wishlist and tell him to buy you something to prove he's real.

AND (oddly enough) it will get you less hate mail, bitching, or whining than a polite "thanks but no thanks" does.

I don't mean that against you, personally. It's because a lot of things are seen differently now. Had you been here a few years back, you'd have seen plenty of things where people from the forums would say, "hey, we're doing this fun thing, so who wants to come along" or "sounds like fun, let's do a house party". Birthdays, anniversaries, in town for X, let's get dinner. Some of the posters who used to do those things have moved on, but some are still here, too.

(Just a hint. It's really, really hard to argue with those of us who have met hundreds of people via the site over the years.

In fairness, though, how many people have you met off this site in the last 12 months, say? I don't have your number of meets, but mine is well above average, and the site feels different to me now, more sparse. I looked at Fet recently, too, and there's more activity there than here, but the large personals groups look dead. My feeling -- with only superficial evidence so far -- is that people have moved on.

My current guess: the popularity of 50 Shades means that it is ok to ask for kink on a normal dating site (and in normal real-life flirtation), so there's less need for a secret place on the internet where the pervs hang out.

It's a fair question, which my answer would bore you to death. That tag in my sig line has become my new policy, so unless it's a long term poster, somebody that has met someone that I know personally, or some kind of similar situation, I just delete that stuff. I don't make posts here any longer about what kink events I attend, advance notice of classes I'm doing, or mention any trip MP and I are taking elsewhere until we've returned home. I know it's been a while, but if you jog your memory a bit, you might have a recollection as to why.

I find that in clubs, they look at you funny when you ask that anyways, if they've even heard of it at all.

I don't like Fet, but I use it by necessity to keep in touch with the kinksters I know offline. CM is strictly for dealing with kinksters I only know online.

Which reminds me... I'm driving CO to NH to CO here pretty soon, and I'm sure there's some online only people along that route whom I never met that I should set up 'meet for drinks meet' with. I should start figuring out who they are...

Well if you cannot spot the fakes from the reals, you are not qualified. They are extremely easy spot. The site even has email controls to help weed out the unwanted.

I have been on CM/CS since 2005. In that time I have met in person about 50+ women (and even played with some) from here and about 125+ members in total. I have met people from Germany, England, USA, China and Brazil.

I am rather an introvert and tend to not like the big public parties. I prefer smaller private events. And I have a major rubber fetish which most Dommes do not get into. With all that I can still find and meet people here at CM. So if you cannot meet someone, then you need to re-examine your approach. It is just not that hard. I do recommend learning the art of courtship or even flirting.
