I know there are some, and that they are found on both ends of the spectrum, and that there are more of them than I care to admit. But there are also more of us who who don't feel that way than those nutjobs care to admit. So I will not let such careless statements stand, if I can help it. If I see them, anyway. I will admit that these days I have more people on hide than usual, people on both ends of the spectrum, so who knows what some of the other nutjobs on here are saying, but I'll address what I can.

The election of a black president undoubtedly stirred it up (I would also say that the situation in Europe also helped legitimize fascism all over the world through the internet), but Trump tapped into it and helped it to grow. If not, we might find some of the internal squabbles much less important, if/when something huge impacts us. Funny how some of the squabbles become less important when rubber starts hitting the road.
