America's natural allies don't do s*it for us but suck us for everything they can get. We need relationships with powerful countries that can mutually benefit each other and respect each other if for no other reason than military might.

Just because goldilocks tells you so it does not mean it is true.

Germany for example pays most of the costs of US bases in Germany, some of which are vital for US military activities outside your hemisphere, like Ramstein and Frankfurt airbases and Landstuhl hospital.

Within the last months it appears as if the US plans to abandon the allies it has for Putin's ambitions.

Allow? So who do you think allowed it? Perhaps transparency must be part of the new world we live in. Technology might force it upon us. Maybe in the long run it will be a good thing for everyone... but right now we experience the growing pains. Who knows? If a positive relationship between Russia and the USA helps stabilize the world, maybe the ends will justify the means. Right now everything is speculation anyways.

It's not really transparency if only one side is transparent. Russia wasn't trying to give people an honest portrait of their candidates-- otherwise Trump and the RNC would have also been exposed.

It's not really speculation-- the sophistication of the attack points to a foreign government and Russia has a history of hacking elections.

The only real question here is how much involvement the Trump campaign had, and judging by Trump's behavior regarding Russia throughout his campaign, I'd be willing to bet it's a lot.

Have you considered that the Reps had better security on their computers.

Ridiculous. Better than the FBI, better than the NSA, better than the CIA?

No.

If everything else were the same, WHY NOT partner with nation fiercely resisting Mohammad's' jihad, rather than those actively embracing it. It's certainly worthy of consideration.

Do sluts really require burkas, and a raping or severe bloody whippings for showing an ankle? I think not.

WhoreMods -> RE: GOP leaders defy Trump, concerned over Russian election influence (12/13/2016 6:38:21 AM)

Do you have any idea what percentage of the population of Russia (never mind the rest of the Russian Federation) is moslem? There's a much bigger chunk of that who are potential jihadists than there are in Germany, both in terms of numbers (about nine and a half million) and as a chunk of the population (seven percent, rather than a bit less than two percent, as they are in Germany).
Putin is not "fiercely resisting Mohammed's jihad" in Syria: he's defending a country's leader who's the son of a former Soviet stooge in the hope of having Assad installed as a suitably grateful bitch if the country still exists when the shitstorm there finally dies down. If jihadists bothered him, he'd be supporting the non-daesh rebels, rather than Assad, who spent his career in power carrying on his father's role of supporting and funding every jihadist in the middle east who might cause trouble for Israel.

Perhaps 5% of Russians are Muslim, after the communist purges. The larger point is that Putin kills terrorists. Doesn't blame every Muslim atrocity on white males, doesn't apologize for killing them. he takes care of business before breakfast.

Of course, Russia also has close ties to Syria and Iran.

But that doesn't matter, anymore than interfering in our elections matters.

America has become the dumbest country on the planet.

I saw this and I am not "chastising", but I honestly think this deserves a thread of its very own.

Start it. I'll be there.

The number of Russian Muslims is usually calculated by adding members of all ethnic groups in the country, which are traditionally Muslim, like Tatars, Bashkirs and Chechens. Thus, according to the latest data, there are about 16 to 20 million “ethnic Muslims,” that is 12-15 percent of Russia's population. Jan 26, 2016 rbth.com/politics

By the way, Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, speaking in an interview to mark the 25 years since the end of the Soviet Union, claims, "The union with the same borders as the USSR could be restored."

Were you also a SJW against Obama interfering with elections in other nations, or (like him) are you only against it when others are rumored to have tried it here.

And, are you now on record favoring common sense voter ID laws to help safeguard our election process? Or like most liberals, do you still claim that blacks are too stupid to obtain IDs.

Guess what? I'm not a UN inspector. I'm an American citizen. And I'm concerned with our national interests.

When did you become a citizen of the world, uninterested in national matters?

Every country should be paying for the cost of US bases in their country.

And it looks like we're actually indirectly self- funding, as usual.

I just wanted you to make it plain to everyone how your constant whining about Russia has nothing to do with basic fundamental liberal principles. We are supposed to believe that you are a proud white nationalist concerned only with America, first and foremost.

Good job.

Talking with you is pointless because you're playing a child's endless "nuh-uh" game instead of any interest in real discussion.

First, I've never been a card-carrying liberal: I'm largely moderate.

Second, that doesn't by any bizarre stretch of logic = "proud white nationalist." We're a nation of many religions and races and cultures.

And third, it's a silly argument -- we also have intervened to ensure fair and democratic elections; don't we deserve the same treatment?

Being willfully stupid doesn't make you insightful. Just willfully stupid.

It is pretty ironic that the republicans want a more open world and the liberals don't seem to anymore.

So you enjoy making uninformed decisions i take it.

Don't be a cunt. If you want to have a discussion, discuss. If you want to be a child, play with someone else.
