It was not the deliberative republican process that protected women, people of color, and working class men, women, and children. Women's rights, racial equality, and industrial worker rights were won in the streets and in the courts, dragging the privileged corporate barons and their political flunkies kicking and screaming into the 20th Century. You may have your opinions, as silly as they are, but you cannot change the history of minority rights.
