Like seriously?

Do people of today still yearn to live till over 100 years old?

Does anybody have an upper age limit before they feel they have lived enough?

Let's assume, if you can live healthily over 100 years old. Do people still really want that?
Let's say no health issues. Just functioning well still. Then is there a limit when it's like, this is too long?

But I am not saying you get to keep your youth forever, but just your health.

That's where "quality of life" also covers "ability to do the activities you might be interested in" and "boredom", I think.
Just a matter of whether you have done everything there is that you wanted to do

Considering the quality of humanity, I think that the world needs an extinction level natural event.

For me personally, I never intended to live past 30, but it seems divine intent wants me to stay around longer, which is why I plan to beat the fuck out of someone in the after life.

I live constantly wracked with guilt. If my son was set in his life I would welcome death with open arms. I am in constant chronic pain. I am constantly exhausted. Other people constantly make my life hell because I don't have the finances to get away from where I am, and short of a miracle that isn't going to change any time soon.

It's hard to love your family, but wish for death.

Do I want to live to 100 or older? Yes, as long as I have a good quality of life. I do not think I will make it there as I have been through to many broken bones, surgeries and other things. But if I am able and want to see what marvelous inventions will be invented, what scientific break throughs that will occur. And who knows maybe I will finally win the lottery!

I'm easily bored as it is, so not anticipating I'd be the happy camper "everyday is sunshine!" type at 95-105 even if in reasonably decent health.

Start stretching. I was wrecked with pain 5 years ago. I started stretching... the more you do it, the better you will feel. Sometimes it will make you feel flu- like... keep going. I have been pain free for years now... no meds. And i only have to stretch a little a couple times a week now. Also... drink a warm drink... like herbal tea after stretching. It helps.

I wish stretching would cure my chronic pains - but it won't; it'll make it worse.

There's no cure or any effective treatment for my ailment (yet).
I would like to live long enough to see a grandchild and to hear of a cure for me.
I might, just, see the first but sadly not the second.

Yes, because no matter what is wrong with a person stretching will cure it.

Actually... it might not cure it, but it will help. Yes.

Not for every ailment tamaka.

If I stretch, my condition will hurt more and get worse.
If I move wrong, I will lose the use of both my arms.
If my OH stretches with her crumbling spine and broken ankle, she could very easily just collapse and end up in a wheelchair.

Making sweeping health statements is dangerous.

Whist I appreciate your thought; I am a life long chronic migraine sufferer, I have trigeminal neuralgia, and ME/CFS that I've had for about 15-18 years as a very fit active out door person with horses, dogs, and a family. I do Ashtanga and Hatha yoga too, so if stretching was going to have helped it would have done by now.

ME means that the brain and spinal cord see everything as an onslaught. It causes both to swell, misfire, block signals, create others that are not there, deplete hormones that I need, trigger receptors that I don't, and cause exhaustion that makes it all worse.

I already feel like I have flu all of the time anyway. Add on to that the migraine that then triggers TN that causes my teeth to feel as though they are being pushed out, a spike pushed through from my top teeth to my eye in to my brain, a sore throat, sore mouth, ear ache, that feeling when you've been to the dentist and the whole side of your face feels swollen, but probably doesn't look it, and your tongue hurts.

That is just a little of how I feel most of my days, and there is absolutely nothing at all I can do to make it better.

What's dangerous (and stupid) is taking seriously unasked-for medical advice from random strangers on the internet. Fortunately Needles is no fool.

Old age aint for sissies, I can tell you, but it is lovely to feel the sun and the wind, and to talk with friends and family. Ailments are impossible to avoid but loneliness and and boredom must be resisted. They are major enemies to a good quality of life.
