To me, everything in BDSM is role play only. It's all about how realistic you want the Role Play to be like. But just because it's extremely realistic, doesn't mean it's Real.

But you can put yourself in a situation where consent is not an option.

I remember reading a story on reddit about a girl who would dress a certain way, get drunk, make herself as vulnerable as possible and put herself in dangerous situations because she wanted to be raped for real... like, she got off on it. I don't think you would consider that consensual because she didn't even know what happened a lot of the time and definitely wasn't in a state of mind where she could say 'no'-- but she wanted it to happen because it was her 'kink'.

That's how I see rape within a consensual TPE relationship-- you consent to the relationship, but not to the rape. And there is such a thing as slaves who love their slavery so much they reject the notion of freedom. I don't think it makes it any less 'real'.

Things like if you were drugged or your ability to consent were somehow taken away... I'm not saying this is widespread, but it's possible.

But what you are talking about it not bdsm, it is not kink, it is not M/s, it is abuse, it is mental illness, or it may be both. Happens in the vanilla world, happens in kink world, happens in every world.

The REASON that I won't advocate staying in a bad dynamic is because I had one. During which, the last three months, I was pretty miserable.

The person I put out of my life stalked and harassed me for three+ years. It sucked. It sucked in ways I can't even describe.

But, I can tell you right now, the worst day going through that stuff was better than any day I had with the person who did it.
