If you were anti-Trump -- you had to vote/get behind Hillary. Any other move was ineffective.

In my own polling of white males there were three groups. (1) Hillary was a crook (20%) (2) I don't like either candidate (60%) and (3) I'm behind her and think she's a good candidate (20%).

Among minorities and women -- you did not hear carping about Hillary and simply got more straight support for her. Few if any from this group ran away and voted for a third party candidate "on principle." There's less ego here.

MM's ego is the size of MT Rushmore and he's an externalizer to boot.

You're not exactly anti-Trump -- so not voting for Hillary makes more sense in your case.

If MM cared about Supreme Court nominations, environmental protections, sensible agency heads, and experience he had one clear choice. Instead, he's Clint Eastwood in his mind -- too cool or "smart" to make the rational, intelligent compromise. Given that, he should shut his pie hole about Trump because he's double dealing on the issue. People like him helped drag Hillary down with their false equivocations.

You are a modest soul in comparison.

By any objective measure -- Hillary was not a "horrible candidate." She was qualified and centrist - understated and truthful on the issues. Sure, there was shit you could carp about -- but that carping sure looks like old fashioned misogyny to me. You never heard she's "horrible" or she's a "crook" from women -- unless they were partisans who voted for Trump.

She had a massive victory in the popular vote -- notwithstanding Russian and FBI meddling during the election. In many ways, I will not and never regard this election as legitimate. The MMs of the world certainly did not help, unable to see the forest from the trees when it came to political analysis.

Wow. You're as delusional as Bozo, inventing reality from the Voices in your Head.

You want to pretend I elected Trump, go for it. But you're still fucked up.

Whatever dude. Rant on. And...nothing will change. Feel better?

Whom shall we blame next?

Putz.

"If you were anti-Trump -- you had to vote/get behind Hillary. Any other move was ineffective. "

Good. Now maybe both parties can learn something from this. You don't shove SHIT down our throat. Got it motherfuckers at the DNC ? If not we'll elect Trump again.

Come up with someone who will not send troops all over the world, take our guns and will make sure boys go to the boysroom and we'll talk. Until then, give it up. Change your platform. These people who get elected are supposed to represent us, not you. Got it fleagle ?

Same with the republicans. Let them have abortions. Aren't half of you racist ? Well what race has the most abortions ? DUH. What are you fucking stupid ? And you're a bunch of hypocrites because when YOUR daughter gets knocked up she gets a D&C. Think we don't know about that you two faced assholes ?

THAT is what both parties must learn among a few other things.

"She had a massive victory in the popular vote -- notwithstanding Russian and FBI meddling during the election."

You consider 5 % massive ? I guess in liberal math anything is possible.

Now, this meddling of which you speak. Are you saying that they manipulated the data from a bunch of states ? Because in case you didn't know anything about how the system works, each state runs their own voting machines.

And leaked emails is not tampering, it is no more than good investigative journalism actually. Or would you rather the government hide everything from you ?

And frankly I don't care if you think this election was legitimate or not, that is not for you to decide.

When are you liberals going to stop whining about this ? Why don't you wait until Trump does something ? And this stock market shit, what would you have him do ? Step down, hand the crown to Clinton because some fat cats might lose a little bit of money ? The whole market is rigged and if you can't afford to play stay out of the game.

You liberals are undermining what little credibility and relevance you have left when you bitch bitch bitch about the election and want to change the rules because your side lost. You know what that sounds like ? You call Trump immature ? Well pot, meet kettle.

I'm not whining. The better candidate lost. You have no counter-argument for that unless you're a Trumper.

Another white guy complaining about Hillary. I'm shocked!

Musicmystery -> RE: Syrian activists languish in government jails (1/6/2017 9:19:57 AM)

It sure looks like whining.

You somehow have convinced yourself that voting for a white woman instead of voting for YOUR white woman is something done only because someone is a white male. That's just loopy.

Did Clinton face a lot of attacks and misogyny? Sure. Were those the only reasons she lost? Nope.

I liked Clinton as my Senator. I was appalled at her last two presidential primary runs.

I didn't disparage her (though certainly others did). She did her share of disparaging Stein and Sanders with invented accusations. Not really lily white, that one. I didn't vote for her because (1) she's a hawk (I'm one of those commie pacifists), closer to neo-con Bush II than to Obama, (2) she's a cozy Wall St. supporter, and (3) her manipulation of the primary (with the DNC) should be alarming everyone. Add to that her arrogance in not bothering to court other Dem supporters after the primary, and running on simply "I'm a woman and I'm not Trump" instead of a message (against her husband's advice), did her in -- voters found themselves unable to choose between the top runners, and instead of turning to 3rd parties (who got pathetically little of the vote), voters left the presidential race blank and voted for other races down ticket. It didn't have to go that way -- but frankly, she earned the loss. Was she qualified? Sure. She just didn't lead.

Trump, unfortunately, lead into hatred and lies and empty promises. And people voted for it.

I couldn't in good conscience vote for either, so I decided to help build 3rd parties for the future. I'm not seeing how that makes this a white male decision, but you're clearly looking with blinders on, so whatever.

Clinton, Trump, different problems, different paths to counter them.

This time, it was Trump. May he expose the GOP for the house of cards it is.

And may the DNC realize the house of cards it has become.

And may the people stand up and do better moving forward.

Like the Trumptooners, you mean? The GOP establishment seem to be in the throes of a vicious case of buyer's remorse at the moment. It's a good job you don't have a cooling off period for elections, I suppose.

No, she definitely was a horrible candidate. And, sadly, Trump was just a little less horrible than she.

She had the most direct experience at what being President entailed. She was also a liar, a hypocrite, and most likely crooked. She is a dyed-in-the-wool politician.

Note how none of that has anything to do with her being female. It isn't misogyny. It's just a honest and accurate description.

Quite. Republicans have been deserting the GOP to join the Democrats in droves the whole time Obama was in office, and it was all down to the histrionic whining.

Consider the target. Like a photoshopped image is going to make people change their minds. (in the other thread) Andlook at all he has contributed to these threads. Calling Trump the pedo elect. Calling anyone who voted for him a silly name like "trumptooner".

These are not the actions of an adult with adult intelligence and sensibilities. I have encountered people in the UK (online) like this but never this bad. Even bondageerone is not this immature.

Are you sure about that? Maybe ya got something to back that up? How could that be? By the end of the Obama Presidency, the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress.

You know, this is really the heart of the matter -- most voters were not for Trump or Clinton. They were anti-Trump or anti-Clinton (or both).

So nearly everyone voted for something they didn't actually want.

Musicmystery -> RE: Syrian activists languish in government jails (1/12/2017 8:53:10 AM)

Syria's silenced voices

Civil society activists, media and humanitarian workers have been particularly targeted for their work since the beginning of the Syrian uprising. Many have been arrested or abducted by either government forces and pro-government militias or by non-state armed groups.
