http://www.huffingtonpost.com/senator-catherine-pugh/respect-president-obamas-_b_6770134.html

"Rudy Giuliani stands in a long line of those who think it is okay to degrade this president. Never in the history of this country, regardless of whether you agree or disagree with him, has a president been this disrespected — there have been disagreements more often attacking one’s policy and not the character or beliefs of the individuals."

I have a feeling this is about to change but I doubt the author will acknowledge that.

Times have certainly changed.

Obama is hardly the first President to be disrespected. Nixon, Carter, Ford, Reagan, & Bush 43 were all disrespected as much, if not more than Obama.

So who was claiming that any of them weren't an American citizen and had no right to be president, then? I must have missed that.

Well I'm just guessing here, but I don't think chimpanzees are considered citizens with a right to be president.

While they lost the claim was made about Goldwater (because Arizona wasn't a state yet when he was born) , George Romney (because his {U S citizens} were in Mexico when he was born) and John McCain (because his parents were based in Panama when he was born) this didn't help any of them.
All of them were accused of being racist which was just as bad particularly since most Republicans repudiated that claim.

Wow! I am shocked. I would never have expected such a sentiment from you.

So nobody who was named as being dissed just as bad while in office as the uppity incumbent president, then.

Not to mention Clinton.

But disrespect is one thing. Silly name calling is another.

You missed the part about the routine (and false) accusation they every Republican (not just presidents) is both a racist and a sexist. I think that trumps a small group of people, including Hillary who bought into the birther junk.

Obama tried using the birther garbage against McCain, what goes around comes around.

Apparently at least according to mods, the only way you can disrespect a president is to claim he had not right to be there. At least that's the way his post reads. Interesting logic.

Doesn't matter who wins, someone on the other side is going to try to come up with a reason why they shouldn't have. This time around it's just a little bit worse because not only did their guy err gal lose, but she lost to the Clown. That's gotta sting.

And then only if he has a D by his name, if he has an R that just makes it a reasonable observation.

Yep, he was the worst the Republicans had to offer and she couldn't even beat him.

LOL Seriously, he did?
of course you have some proof of that dont you.....

Surely you remember that the senate unanimously declared John McCain a natural-born citizen, eligible to be president in may of 2008.
