ORIGINAL: ThatDizzyChick here's what i do when i get one of those sorts of messages. I ignore any and all links in the message and go to the usual site, log in normally and change my password normally. So unless they have hijacked the main site, i am good. And if/when you get one of those malicious emails?? Just opening it will trigger the trojan and you won't necessarily know about it. And if it's one of those tracker/keylogger/netbot trojans, you might not know for months. Meanwhile, everywhere you've been, every site you login to, every username/password you use will be sent elsewhere for someone else to tamper with your online persona. They could transfer money, wreck accounts.... anything. And because the site itself hasn't been compromised, you'll have a damned hard job convincing them it wasn't you doing it. And this is one of the 'nicer' ones out there. There are many that wreck machines at the same time. No, you won't be good - you'll have been hacked via the back door and not know it.
