Well, that was a rather curious comment, I'll concur but....deign all you please.....in 3 days he's done damn near everything he said he'd do.
(Don't matter if you like what he's doing.....he's DOING what he said he would....and in rapid fire).
1) Sign out of the TPP. (Done).
2) Send legislation to Homeland Security to find the funding for and begin designing the wall and hiring contractors to do so. (Done).
3) Sign the Keystone pipeline deal. (Done).
4) Make clear....we're renegotiating NAFTA at the first opportunity (signed....Done).
There's about 40 other things he said he'd do (and...has done in just 3 days).....some...even to me, a staunch Republican....seem a bit harsh and over the top but....I'm also quite clear, when I take a hard stance in business, not everyone finds favor with me but.....amazingly....every damn one of them still takes my money (and, for the record, are quite happy, to this day....to do so).
Friends and business don't mix and the U.S. is the biggest family owned business on the planet (hello brother), and it's time someone actually took a stand....for us....you....and me.
Obama promised "within the first 100 days, I will close Gitmo". He could have done it with any of his hundreds of Executive Orders.
He didn't. He blames Congress for not allowing that to occur and....today, it still holds prisoners.....9 years later.
(Probably for very good reason....these are really bad people but.....that's what the man said.....he said it AGAIN in 20012....and today...it still holds prisoners).
I had to make TREMENDOUSLY painful decisions in 2009, a year after the world ended financially (I'm in the construction business). Not one employee lost their job. Not one employee had their wages reduced but.....we made some very tough decisions....some of our vendors lost business from us where we took things in house.
Today, the United States is in severe financial peril.
Our financial house is on fire and the embers are glowing.
Our debt....is GROWING.
Trump has offered as a program that federal agencies spend 1% less every year for 5 years (except entitlements).
That's doable. You could do that. In the last 8 years, you probably already have.
And more.
At my firm, after 2009, we cut expenses by 20 - 40% across the board, yet everyone kept their jobs, their homes and in 2016, we had our best sales and profit year in our entire 38 year history....and many of the vendors (that had to do the same to stay in the game) are back today, making even more money off of us.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to get "there" on the same boat we've all been having a grand old time on for 70 years.
It's time to pay our bills. There's gonna be some shit coming that most won't like (including nearly every Trump supporter).....but as for me....I know what it's like to run a business. Further, I know what it's like to save one.
I'm going to give the guy a chance.
