Which is why I find people trying to take the moral high ground over this one puzzling: even if you ignore all of the things that have been said about the last three president's kids, Baron's father spent his whole election campaign making it clear that nothing was off limits.

So you are saying that because someone else may have done it before it is ok. And unlike you I have always agreed that children should be off limits. I agreed that wives should be off limits up until Clinton's two for one campaign and promises that Hillary would be a virtual co-president, then started whining when after he made her part of the campaign the other side treated her like anyone else running for office.

Really? He was taking shots at other Democratic or Republican candidate's kids? Cite for any of those swipes?

I don't see why this is so puzzling for you...fully grown adult vs under- teenage kid. Any fairness in that contest that you can see?

And yes...way back when the press was taking shots over how awkward and ugly Amy Carter was, I thought it was unfair. When you're an adult taking shots like that, you come off as a bully.

I don't see how one can answer fully without addressing the question of, what's the purpose of comedy?

and if something or someone is "off limits" why is it so?

First, it's a simple yes or no (which you got).

Then, you don't see how one can answer fully without addressing the purpose of comedy.

Which is it?

And which definition of comedy? Comedy is the art form that examines the universal shortcomings of humanity, and as such, may or may not be funny (it can be bitter, or just insightful).

Or, in the modern casual sense, meaning simply funny.
