You're insane and it doesn't matter anyway. California is going to break off the continent and fall into the ocean.

Massachusetts would be fine. We have healthcare for everyone and have since Mitt Romney i believe. We have a good variety of tech based companies too.

Well yeah, after all that financial fraud and theft, and that flood of money from working people in other states to bail out Mass. and Boston's financial fraud and theft, it's easy to be magnificent, no? But the question from the OP has inherent thereby that your state is cut off from federal funds.

Oh my.

Just imagine Mississippi workers not having to work till 3 O'clock every fucking day to pay for your and other wealth-sucking state's theft and excess?

No bail outs, no financial sector subsidies, no oil subsidies..

It wouldn't go well, there, in your state.

Absence of Mass. and CA and NY , OTOH, would be a great boon to the nation.

Seriously, I don't know why some people think in terms of secession when far greater advantage to the country would be obtained by terms of judicious eviction.

I would miss you greatly, I have to say.

Interesting perspective, but then Google says...

"The highest federal aid recipients are: Mississippi (45.3%), Louisiana (44%), Tennessee (41%), South Dakota (40.8%), Missouri (39.4%), Montana (39%), and Georgia (37.9%). As you may have noticed, almost all of these are "red" states controlled by the Republican Party (Missouri is an exception)."

Did you not notice that Goldman Sachs and AIG bailouts and costs burdened to every state in the country by Halliburton and VA hospitals, and millions of houses and jobs lost were NOT factored in, there?

My own experience is that yankees are the biggest fucking dullwits in the world, that being reinforced every three or four posts in this thread.

Reading comprehension is key, here, along with the most basic math. Sorry you missed out.

basic math says you set y to 0 and solve for x.

that burden would disappear in the ozone if the country split, that would be old news.

I sure hope that you don't take it I'm in favor of any split.

PS

Apologies for the insult re yankees.

I become exasperated far too easily, as you might surmise.

All three of my sisters married yankees, only one of them divorced.

Like the song says, two out of three ain't bad.

Sorry lost track of this one. Has any state began the process? Oh come on California you must have?

There was some scaremongering here if Scotland splits from England there trade was worth 32 billion and the EU 19 Billion or something like that...so best to be with those southern animals than European Johnny foreigners...i think thats how the press reported that one.

I can assure you trade will not cease between our two lands...Nor will it cease between your states - only those suffering a dreft or brain poverty think this with the help of your alt right and fake news websites report

Sorry if my contribution, as such, came across as 'vicious.'

But if instead you recognized the humour intended (along with head banging to table exasperation), then welcome aboard, sir.

To reiterate:

Quit posting numbers about the putative 'welfare states' if not then posting alongside the incalculable damage done to the country and to the world by the wealth destroying and life destroying states of NY and California.

and something else I posted a while ago [some of it is relevant here]:

there are many forms of "welfare" but food stamps are a large part of it and here is some data relative to them.

I just posted this recently on a thread that he was in (see my point above about learning). it was meant to answer another question (about red states and blue states) but the answer to this particular one is nevertheless there too:

quote:

im sorry, that statement is essentially meaningless. which way a particular state goes in a presidential election--or if there is some other way to determine "red" or "blue"---has absolutely nothing to do with the demographics of who actually receives government assistance in the guise of food stamps.

the question has to be answered on that level.

ive seen the data before, and if I remember rightly, there are a surprising number of republicans on food stamps, but there is a small majority of democrats.

in any event, here's the most recent raw data by states:

http://www.fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/pd/29SNAPcurrPP.pdf

I haven't done all the addition, but a cursory view appears to show the blue states (as per the last election) receive most food stamps on the individual level.

California, florida, new York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, ohio and Michigan are 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 in the top ten usage. only three red states are in the top ten, texas, Georgia and north Carolina at 2, 7 and 9 respectively.

pretty much the top ten's numbers, tower over the remaining states. for instance it would take anywhere from 10-20 other states to meet California and florida combined totals.

quote:

to make it more pertinent to his statement---3 of the top five states in food stamp usage are not southern states and 6 of the top ten are not southern states.

whats more:

there are 11 states (apparently) that have more people on welfare than people working. 5 are southern, 6 are not and the population in the 6 vastly outnumbers the population in the other 5. in fact 4 of the 6 are amongst the top 5-6 most populous states, California, new York, ohio, and Illinois).

Indeed, there are a fuck of a lot forms of welfare, especially when it comes to millionaire recipients.Which states rank highest in corporate welfare and tax evasion? Which states rank highest as recipients of financial bailout tax money from workers in every other state? Which states rank highest as recipients of defense contracts and instigation of foreign invasions?

The question has to be answered on that level.

But yet people actually come here and openly gloat that the lowest paid people in the country have to resort to TANF and EBT to survive, because their tax payments to the war machine falls short..

Fucking sick bastards.

Another factor that is ignored is that all of the big bailouts go to blue states, not to mention the millions wasted on green projects.
