Rather than just re-hashing all the misleading right wing red herrings about the Benghazi attack, perhaps you could explain why they "investigated" the hell out of the thing for four years with our money, but then suddenly and quietly shut down that "investigation" two weeks after Hillary Clinton was defeated? Does it have anything to do with Kevin McCarthy's admission on FauxNoise that it was all intended to drive down Clinton's ratings?

I thought these deeply patriotic "leaders" in the GOP were just overwhelmed with grief about those four lost Americans. They sure got over their grief fast.

Of course, they didn't show an ounce of that grief for eight years of the Bush Administration, in which our embassies were attacked 13 times with 100 deaths. Funny, that. Must have just been busy and didn't get to it, right?

Perhaps this is why the GOP is dying outside of the tumbleweed and racist backwater states. Zero credibility among the informed electorate.

U.S. military officials told Reuters that Trump approved his first covert counterterrorism operation without sufficient intelligence, ground support or adequate backup preparations.
not a moonless night...

of course nobody does more intelligence or checking between jan 6th and 28th, Trump thought he could use Obamas plan and take the credit...
but
didnt happen that way...

1 American died and 14 terrorists was killed.

Is it really a failed operation?

I guess if we want zero human casualties, then the only way is the keep sending drones and blindly dropping bombs.

And yes, The Obama administration has the same military intelligence formulating this plan right?

So why shouldn't Trump go ahead and execute Obama's plan?

Without consulting further?

Because things change quickly, and gathering intelligence is a constant endeavor to make sure you have the latest and most accurate info.

Also, I have yet to see any reliable reports that indicate 14 terrorists died, care to share where you got that info?

Because Bush took responsibility an didn't blame a dumb video.

Oh good lord. You're talking about the guy who spent two years after the 9/11 attacks working to convince the public that Saddam Hussein pulled it off. Please, stay within the confines of believable parody at least.

There was confusion in the hours after the Benghazi attack. There WAS an inflammatory video that was causing anger throughout that part of the Arab world. And then, there is the inconvenient fact that the ringleader of Benghazi SAID that the attack was partially in response to the video:

And somehow that trivial few hours of confusion was parlayed into an excuse for wasting the public's time, attention and money for four years. You people really are shameless. And pathetic.

The ambassador a made over 100 requests for additional security and the other embassies ha closed do to the threat, Clinton and company ignored the threat until it was it was to late then spent their time making up stories to protect them rather the staff. You might ave a point if it ha come out of the blue but only the people who will be surprised when the sun comes up in the morning.

Hard to secure the embassies when Republicans are continually cutting the budget for same.

quote:

Democrats enacted $1.803 billion for embassy security, construction and maintenance for fiscal 2010, when they still controlled the Senate and House. After Republicans took control of the House and picked up six Senate seats, Congress reduced the enacted budget to $1.616 billion in fiscal 2011, and to $1.537 billion for 2012.

The administration requested $1.801 billion for security, construction and maintenance for fiscal 2012; House Republicans countered with a proposal to cut spending to $1.425 billion. The House agreed to increase it to $1.537 billion after negotiations with the Senate.

The administration requested $1.654 billion for the State Department’s Worldwide Security Protection program for fiscal 2012. House Republicans proposed funding the program at $1.557 billion. Congress eventually enacted $1.591 billion after the Senate weighed in.

For fiscal 2013, the administration requested $2.15 billion in funding for the worldwide security protection program, a larger increase from the previous year. The House countered with a proposal to increase the program to $1.934 billion.

pretending your assessment is correct, they could have pulled them out like everyone else who couldn't protect them did. They had plenty of warning.

In the real world, facts do matter.

Well let's go with that. If "the plan had been under consideration since November 7, and officials under the administration of Barack Obama reviewed and approved it January 6," then the failures in intelligence and planning would seem to devolve upon the Obama administration, leaving Trump guilty at worst of relying on the previous administration's assessment. One might also wonder if these unnamed "officials" cited by Reuters expressed their view prior to the raid, and whether it was considered to have merit by the military entities charged with carrying out the plan.

K.

While I totally agree with you, I am not sure why you bother. People were blaming shit on the clown before he ever took office. From this point forward every thing will be down to him no matter what facts may say. But it is nice to see them taking notice of the casualties of war again. They seemed to have lost interest in it for the past 8 years.

As if you would ever disagree.

There was more outrage from the left than the right over the teenager killed by the drone in Yemen.

And you've completely ignored the fact that multiple officials are saying that there wasn't adequate preparation-- just like all of the other terrible things that Trump has done this week.

You don't know me so you have no clue how often I disagree with anything but I am not surprised to see you lie and claim you do.

And more outrage from the left than the right, now I suppose you might actually have a link for this, so I will wait for a response before I call you a liar for this one.

as to the last, again you are wrong. I have paid attention to that. It's how I know they were waiting for a moonless night to go ahead with it.

so it would seem that I was correct in my first assessment and you are merely talking out of your ass pretending to know things you can't.

and you wonder why you lost the election.

We are wondering why the president thought that killing numerous americans due to his ineptitude is ok, actually.
