As an uncle, I was too busy teaching the brats what hot vs. cold water was, so then to the range and oven; "hot!" "burn!," thence bike riding and how to cross the street, and the final importance for any child to graduate to adolescence; how to turn the stereo on, operate the turntable, and play a record. At some later point I was forced to get acquainted with streaming so as to steer their young ears away from the awful MP3, but they are much further in that endeavor than I am now. Reagan/Bush/Clinton were doing their worst all the while. The brats never heard a word of it, not from the parents, not from me. When they are old enough to take some interest in it, at whatever age that occurring, they will read about it and make of it what they will by their own mind. My ex brother in law never preached, but he watched fox news every day, which I am convinced as that turning my youngest niece into such a rabid lefty (people in my family just don't 'go rabid' about politics, if we can help it). She recognized the enemy at an early age, precocious brat she was (and is).
