How so? When I spoke to the instructor, an ex-cop , about traveling with my guns he said to be careful, keep purchase receipts and registration with the guns and keep the guns and ammo locked up separately.
Is there new legislation or something in the works?
ETA I realize you are talking about carrying your guns, not just traveling with them, is there legislation in the works to make CPL's recognized nationally?
Yes, this thread was started because a national reciprocity bill is now before Congress and when passed his ccw will be good everywhere.
That and the stupid arguments of groups like Bloomberg's that this will legalize carry by criminals and by "dangerous" people but nobody can tell me which state issues permits to criminals or who those "dangerous" people are.
What's the difference? Those guns will be stolen from those ccw people who aren't responsible owners at home ether, and before the ink is dry on the insurance check the odds are it will be used in a crime. There's just going to be more places for guns to get stolen from.
All they have to do is find the vehicles with the gun stickers on them. simple. Then they'll just CCW to where to next crime will be carried out.

the current level of irresponsible gun owners feeds the weapon black market quite well on its own already.

The highlighted part shows the problem in your thinking. The people who steal guns will not be affected by this law. They don't follow any law anyway.
the problem with ur thinking is ultimately, the more guns that are out & available the more are stolen and the more they wind up in MY neighborhood.
And then when they show up ur neighborhood ur shocked and outraged or even wackier yet when they are "legally" bought and STILL used in ur "neighborhood" (like Florida airports.) u act like ur helpless when its really ur own fault.
YOU keep wanting to look anywhere other than the simple fact that ur love of weapons and the want of u to not be "inconvenienced" by laws,
is the very reason there IS a problem with ur needing protection from people who don't follow the law.
u are our own worst enemy because u feed the monster u fear and don't want to take ownership or responsibility of doing so.
