one of the issues that's being missed in the recent back and forth here is the link between sex education, morality and parental authority.

How's that being missed? I'd imagine most are aware that sex education is subject to problems with parents feeling that their morality gives them authority over every bastard else's kids besides their own, and that it entitles them to insist that nothing is taught that they disagree with. Pushing that true love waits nonsense and ignorance as a substitute for sex education springs from the exact same wellspring as giving equal time to creationism in biology classes, and it's pretty clear what the link is.

and
views and methods on the left are typically objectionable because they often contradict the former and usurp the latter.

Oh yeah, sure, those damn teachers are a bunch of low life reprobates and godless degenerates who do not have families or children of their own and who cannot be trusted with discussing our social and cultural standards. Another disgusting right wing attack on hard working teachers. Meh!

One other thing to consider, Bounty, when I got your kid it was for one hour a day and he was already 13 or 15 years old. Shame on you if you haven't taught him your values and morals by then.
