They had no idea if there were innocents are not... they just pushed the bomb out the back...just like Assad. The little bastard just wanted to look good and take the attention from his failures. Again... how about your kids as hostages...want to kill them still? You never answer direct questions. If i would not kill my own children as hostages I would not want to kill yours. Butch I've seen you post this same thing over and over, and that is okay. I appreciate your point of view. But let me see if I can present this differently to you. Let's say that the U.S. notified ISIS of their intention of dropping a bomb at the site in question, and they tell them that it will be dropped (arbitrarily) at 1:00 p.m. on April X. This is being done so that "innocents" can be removed from the area. Of course, both you and I know that the "innocents" might be moved, but we can rest assured that the combatants will be gone. They MIGHT just leave the "innocents" there so they can spread propaganda about how U.S., the Great Satan, just killed all of these women and children. Meanwhile, the combatants have moved to a new location where they still have the capability to wage war, and can kill plenty of "innocents" of their own, as well as kidnapping new slaves to replace those lost at the previous site. Now, the U.S. finds where they are, and once again they notify them that on May XX they will be dropping another bomb, but that they want ISIS to move all of the "innocents" before it happens. And history repeats itself. Over, and over, and over. So, my question to you is, rather than to simply complain about what did happen, what would YOUR solution be to fix the problem? How do you suggest that ISIS be stopped without risking "innocents"?

There is no problem as far as I see... We don't kill innocents. If we could not be reasonable sure there were no innocents in the blast zone... We just should not do it. Sure we could fight a war and win easily by ignoring civilians casualties but we would be no better than they. There will always be mistakes and civilians killed in war... and in the past we purposely killed innocents... but I like to believe we have learned from the horrors of wars past. But besides all the excuses for killing innocents the real target for that attack was to deny the enemy the protection of the cave system... THAT we could do without taking a chance on killing women and children. Trump chose the use an indiscriminate weapon without knowing if civilians would be killed. He was lucky...imagine if there had been innocents there... We could have lost the support of many in Afghanistan that in the end could cost more American lives. Just more poor decision making by Trump. Burch

It wasnt you intellagence welfare agent. I think Maj. Butch has a point. however, its what the bomb is designed for. And the commander had free reign to use it. But that buck stops with the POTUS CINC

It's Trump's genius if giving local commanders agency over all available weapons works out 'Great'. (Reports are he didn't sign off on any MOAB use, but is now saying he had given permission beforehand.) I'm pretty sure local commanders will be crucified by our resident military genius if the outcome is embarrassing enough he has to react and 'walk back' any policy. Trump has shown precious little loyalty to past underlings who 'failed', either from their own initiative, or while exactly following his policies. Actually a whole TV series was devoted to his lack of support and loyalty: "The Apprentice" (You're Fired). If you make him money, however, legal or not, it's his genius. If you cost him anything, (Can be blamed) you're history, and fully responsible. All of which sort of . . . Exactly, falls under the rubric of, "Narcissist".
