And bingo! We're the topic. Again.

* yawn *

...and as always, you are such a massively mentally deficient moron that you cannot possibly see that your own desperate trollish personal attacks derailed the thread.

Love the clown circus. Always a great start to the day [:D]

It is funny. He really doesn't see that he's the troll.

If estimates of ISIS fighters being 80,000-100,000 (in Syria and Iraq) are correct, it's going to be a long and expense bombing campaign at that rate.

But even the estimated 7,500 in Afghanistan, that's 80 bombs (if we could replicate the same success rate). That's $170,000 a unit, or $1800 per Afghan ISIS fighter.

Yeah, assuming they are all holed up in deep cave complexes. [8D]

K.

It would be nice if they would just flush all of their Korans down toilets wouldn't it

Kinda like, if someone had a time machine and took out Marx as an infant, a hundred million lives would never have been snuffed out prematurely by HIS radical ideology either

SO much human misery would be negated

Musicmystery -> RE: US military drops 'mother of all bombs (4/15/2017 1:11:38 PM)

Well, it is the hiding place of choice in Afghanistan.

I would be easier if they just stood in a field somewhere.

Yeah, right. Uh huh. No one was suffering in the world until KM came along. [8|]

If the point of the bombing was to deny the enemy the cover of the cave system then why not warn them to get their families to safety?

So they could move their troops to a save haven.

Bama we are either animals as they or we are not... If you think it is acceptable to sacrifice innocents to teach them a lesson on human shields then you are as bad as they. The significance of this bombing was denial of the cave system... not a few estimated casualties. The humane thing to do would be to give a short warning allowing innocents to flee... Trump did it for the Russians at the airbase...why not innocent women and children. He had no way of knowing who was in those caves but he bombed indiscriminately... No less abhorrent to civilized people than Assad's barrel bombs.

The denial of protection and shelter to the terrorists could have been done without innocents being killed. The 30 something estimated enemy deaths will have little affect on the war where the destruction of the cave system could.

Butch

Right, don't attack anyplace where they have human shields.
Has it ever occurred to you that the people using human shields are the ones responsible for what happens to them?
Of course not.
Never fire when there are human shields so if they attack a position diving innocents ahead of the if the position does not surrender they and not ISIS are the animals.

Yea...what if your child were to be held captive and used as human shield... still blow the little fuckers up? They were not driving innocents ahead of their their position. Must their children be punished as their fathers? We need not lose our humanity to fight and win... unless we are cowards.

Not really...

although the pressure differences would send the contents (and people) of the interior jetting around the insides of the tunnels with tornado force winds, this would usually dissipate before it reached any other exit. It would be more likely that connecting tunnel segements cave in, collapsing the network and reducing it's utility. (which is probably why we used it)

If it was a Fuel Air Explosive (FAE) Then yes... the fire caused by the bomb would either chase the oxygen through the tunnels, eventually spitting out of all the other exits, or it would vacuum the air out of the tunnels, sucking it into the conflagration - which would produce visual dust clouds at the other exits.

These simple folk of course would never be able to conceive of a concept like blast doors.

Maybe we should have just dropped an air cav unit in and had them check each person to make sure
they were Taliban before they took any action against them.
Sure they would take lots more casualties but they are just Americans, worse yet soldiers.
You are not aware of two things , or so it seems.

A There are no reported innocents among the "victims", and you can be sure the Taliban would exaggerate the numbers if there were any.
B Many of the captives who escaped have stated that they have prayed for us to bomb the places they were held and killed them.

You have no clue who the fundamentalist Muslim group known as ISIS is or what they do to their victims

Educate yourself before posting, and perhaps stop parading yourself around as an ignoramus laughingstock

Isn't that what they are paid to do. Not everyone in the military has a "coffee cup finger and a donut belly.

Why do you care you never did that sort of work?
Why are we in the sandbox?

You are not aware of two things , or so it seems.

We are all aware that chairborn rangers like yourself are not interested in buying a ticket in

I've got to say, if I had a mindless little shit-for-brains loser troll like thompsonx defending me, or on my side?

Suicide would have to be an option.

You might wish to consult camus on the subject of suicide.
Suicide is always an option for those with the courage to exercise it.

besides, it has nothing to do with if they can conceive it or not - it's not like they could get or install one any ways.

Had you a clue how a blast door works you would understand that the shape of the opening has little to do with how it works.

The japs seemed to have figured it out on places like pelelieu and okinawa.

I dunno, maybe because naturally formed caves are not made of Steel Reinforced Concrete specfically designed to defend against Concussive blast damage?

If you understand how blast doors worked, maybe you'd have a clue on the fact that a reinforced door doesn't do shit if the surrounding material is weaker then the door.

So an Organized Army with the backing of an Empire, logistics provided by what was at the time one of the most powerful navies in the world, and a nation of people whom where devout to the cause and believed that their leader was a Deity, According to You, is comparable to a handful of insurgents and terrorists with no logistical support, no direct government ties, and only draws from a very select group of believers?

Also - the blast doors on those islands where built onto Bunkers embedded into the island... not just randomly placed door ways in natural cave structures.

The Japanese navy ceased being one of the most powerful navies in the world at midway.

Wrong sweet cheeks. They used the naturally occurring caves. Installed blast doors and deflectors made of concrete, coral and steel.

Considering that both Islands where property of Japan for decades before World War 2 and the bunkers where built before Midway... Not sure what purpose that small blurb served aside from attempting to derail.

Okay - well until you can provide proof that they placed blast doors on the living rock on those islands, you're welcome to believe that. But just so you know, the rest of us in reality know you're wrong.
