If my sympathy does any good Peon, you've got it; you and all the people this has affected.

Thanks, Dvr.

Trying to cast my mind over anyone who might be involved. I'd never heard of the singer in question: seems she's probably of most appeal to teens. I don't think I know of anyone who has teens of that age living up there in Manchester.

Very little info as yet even on the cause, much less the perpetrators. I'm wondering if this explosion could have been an accident of some sort ... power cables or the like? I doubt it, though. People have also reported hearing what sounded like gunshots.

I am going to say Islamic extremists.

And considering I have an old and dear friend living in Manchester, I have already sent out an email and made one phone call, with no answer, went direct to voice mail.

If it were the religion of peace, their extremists would be extremely peaceful

They're Muslim fundamentalists. True believers of the cult teachings. Assuming that it was a suicide bomber (likely), a martyr in the name of Allah and believed to be enjoying fantastic rewards now and forever

Probably Islamists, yes.

Does your friend have teen kids, Jeff?

Teen grandchildren (15, 16 and 18,) and I cannot remember if the grandchildren live in Manchester, which is why I made the call.

She is a trauma nurse at the Hospital and her husband is a trauma surgeon, so the reason for no answer on their cell phones is probably due to them being involved in the response.

Yes, highly likely. Other patients waiting at A & E have been asked to go home unless their problems are really urgent. They're dealing with a lot of injuries.

The bomber probably figured he'd take some of those virgins he is promised with him. Nutcase religion.

Maybe, just maybe, if we stop the finger pointing and REALLY start LISTENING to each other the world will be a better place. Albeit, considering the current political environment I don't see it happening. Welcome to reality folks.

There are entertainment venues and soft target shopping malls all over the world. Sadly, they cannot be protected 100% of the time. But the troops are getting better. Tonight's bomb did not go off inside the arena. And oh yeah, people are listening. If Trump would just shut the fuck up and let our intel people do their jobs.

I think this is as good a time as any to reiterate the differences between Islam and Christianity.
Not all ideas are equal.

I am a christian and yet have made a point of procuring and thoroughly reveiwing a copy of the Quran.

Some may remember in years past the incedents of violent attack on abortion clinics here in the U S , including muder, in the name of "christianity".
In each and every instance, their were large groups of christian leaders from across the country and race spectrum, standing together in front of the media to condemn each attack and emphasize that these actions were NOT christian.
A show of unity that went along way to clarify the issue and ease further threats.

Where are the leaders of Islam now? Anyone? ......Anyone?.......
I have neither seen nor heard of even one instance of any Imam speaking out publicly to condem any terrorist attack or threat.
Not one, much less a group. Why is that? Its because "believe or be killed" IS the Islam "religion".
It is not a "philosophy of peace" as many would have you believe.

I think if anyone takes the time to actually investigate the Quran, with a reasonable mind, it will be exposed that Islam is a bad idea. It should be exposed for what it is,.....a facist regime, .....nothing more, nothing less. It should be dealt with accordingly.

Sadly, you just made my point! Back too the reruns.
