Awareness -> Weak men advocate for social equality (5/23/2017 5:38:18 AM)

I am not surprised. Not in the slightest.

By the the study itself or it's conclusions or both?

Perhaps, muscularity, having it or striving for it, promotes (or arises from) the delusion that the individual is made invulnerable. Kind of a Superman projection. I say delusion because as far as we know everyone succumbs eventually to disease and death no matter how formidable their musculature or how large their treasury vault. Maybe a subset of the illusion of immortality? We think wealth and health are forever.

In the interest of balance, this study is just as ridiculous and poorly supported as the OP:

So now you come out in favor of social equality.

Interesting.

Musicmystery -> RE: Weak men advocate for social equality (5/23/2017 10:41:31 AM)

LeBron James
Michael Jordan
Mike Tyson
Shaquille O'Neal
Muhammad Ali
Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Cristiano Ronaldo
Derek Jeter
Chris Bosh
Magic Johnson

...these are just a few of the famous athletes who actively support a progressive agenda.

I don't think anyone realistic is going to call them "weak."

More "science" as opinion.

What do they teach in schools these days anyway?

WinsomeDefiance -> RE: Weak men advocate for social equality (5/23/2017 10:48:13 AM)

I would have been interested in data that supports the topic headline.

Questions that spring to mind:

Was educational levels included in the study?
Did they perform the same studies on thinner, less muscular men?
How many men were studied,
were the studies taken from men from different socioeconomic and cultural upbringings/lifestyles?

The study might have had less causal ambiguity, had a wider range of correlations been applied equitably.

You mean that black men in the entertainment industry tend to be progressive? How unusual.

If it had been the republicans rather than the democrats that voted in the civil rights act, I'm sure you'd have all these uppity black folk voting regressively rather than for the dems.

Oh jees. Perhaps men who set goals, (such as a strong body and mind), keep to them and use the results in their lives makes them feel less interested in having a one size fits all nanny state control their lives.

Really whoreboy? That seems to be your problem. More hate and bluster than actual knowledge.

The Civil Rights Act -- which is best known for barring discrimination in public accommodations -- passed the House on Feb. 10, 1964 by a margin of 290-130. When broken down by party, 61 percent of Democratic lawmakers voted for the bill (152 yeas and 96 nays), and a full 80 percent of the Republican caucus supported it (138 yeas and 34 nays).

When the Senate passed the measure on June 19, 1964, -- nine days after supporters mustered enough votes to end the longest filibuster in Senate history -- the margin was 73-27. Better than two-thirds of Senate Democrats supported the measure on final passage (46 yeas, 21 nays), but an even stronger 82 percent of Republicans supported it (27 yeas, 6 nays).

WhoreMods -> RE: Weak men advocate for social equality (5/23/2017 11:08:49 AM)

So it wasn't voted in under a democrat president or anything, then?
How strange: I'd not heard that a republican was in the white house back in '64.

I found it curious that everything was phrased as if there was something "wrong" with the more muscular guys. Perhaps the less muscular guys are wanting to level the natural playing field for their own purposes.

I know how many times that I have wished for extra height or such to make things easier. Why would not a male with a less formidable physic want to make that less important?

I'm not sure if this was overlooked or not, but my post was intended as humor in response to the OP.

Weak-minded people like annoyness and bama and regressmen, et al. search the net far and wide to find people they hope are even weaker than they are in order to artificially prop themselves up thereby, or oftentimes, conversely, try to adduce evidence that they aren't really weak, it's just that lefties are mean bullies.

The former stance is what I was directly addressing to the OP.

Your thinking is so strange. Republican legislators were in the minority yet still provided more votes than the majority democrats. And if you actually read the article, which you won't because it will abuse your ignit thinking, the republicans worked hard with the President to get it passed.

So by your thinking, democrats are the party of dropping nuclear bombs?

It's obvious you have no knowledge of history...or reality.

Have a good day.

What I find interesting is how they used a sample size of 171 men and then extrapolated the results from that group to apply to the other (approximately) 3.8 billion males on the planet.

Bit of a stretch, I think.

I know how many times that I have wished for extra height or such to make things easier. Why would not a male with a less formidable physic want to make that less important?

I ran across the phenomenon the first time in seventh grade science class. It puzzled me then and it took me years to understand it. The teacher asked the class, "If science could make the next generation of people supermen, would you be for it or against it?" Half the class said yes and half the class said no. When asked why the majority of the yes people thought it would be cool. The majority of the no people feared that the supermen would turn on them. It was fear.

Later in life I see that fear a lot. I see a lot of it in people who want a nanny state to force everyone to behave in a politically correct manner. I see the lack of that fear in people who accept personal responsibility.

This isn't all encompassing. For instance, I truly believe VML isn't a pinko because of fear, but rather a personal since of morality. But, for a large part there is that fear and that, in my opinion, is why the muscular guys are defined as wrong. Because when you view the world through that tint of fear you'll usually project that fear.

Bill Bradley
Alex Karras
Tom McMillan
Steve Nash
Dean Smith
John McEnroe
Phil Jackson
Andre Agassi
Mike Richter (NY Rangers, NHL HOF)

Etc.

Athletes are like the rest of the population. They vote Republican, they vote Democrat, they vote Independent.

The laughingly failed point of the OP (which you appear to be on board with) was that 'strong' people don't support social equality, only 'weak' people do.

Just too funny.

And extremely weak, in fact.
