At Least 12 Killed in Pair of Terrorist Attacks in Iran

Armed assailants, including some disguised as women, stunned Iran on Wednesday with brazen attacks on the Parliament building and the tomb of its revolutionary founder, the worst terrorist strike to hit the Islamic republic in years.

At least 12 people were killed and 46 were wounded in the near-simultaneous assaults, which lasted for hours, clearly took Iran’s elite security forces by surprise and shattered the self-proclaimed image of calm in a turbulent region.

The six known attackers also were killed, official news media said, and five suspects were reported detained. Their identities were not made clear.

“We will avenge the blood of those martyred in today’s terrorism attacks,” said Brig. Gen. Hossein Salami, deputy commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, the country’s powerful paramilitary force.

In a statement, the Revolutionary Guards appeared to blame Saudi Arabia and the United States for the assaults even as responsibility for them was asserted by the Islamic State, the Sunni extremist group that has taken credit for terrorist attacks around the world in the past few weeks.

Muslims kill thousands and thousands every month, it is normal, it has been going on since Mohammad himself was doing it, and it is routinely ignored because it isn't PC to see it

I knew about it, and I also know about the politics surrounding the attack. Iran and SA have been getting ready to have a serious throw down for quite a while. Just like their proxy battles have also been raging for a long time.

Is any of this really news to you?

Obama gave Iran billions in cash, knowing they fund terrorism and cause all kinds of chaos

At least SA leaders don't lead their population in chants of "Death To America" like Obama's jihadi lovers do

Iran has actually been going through alot of economic reforms recently, most that money went to modernizing their country, which is why the country reelected their secular western leading candidate. Saudi Arabia on the other hand is trying to commit genocide of their own shia community under the noses of Nato....

So yeah,Iran's mullah's are pretty damn unpleasant, but the country is making progress
meanwhile yer boy Donny T just sent boat loads of weapons to our enemy......

The enemy of our enemies, clown

Compared to Iran and a few others the Saudis are extreme moderates and if they fell the chaos may well be unimaginable

The "Enemy of our enemy" bullshit is how we ended up funding the fledgling Taliban

Maybe we should learn from our mistakes

Like Obama's mistake(odd you mentioned him and Iran)of selling massive amounts of weapons to the Saudi gov back during his term..
Of course they started ramping that sort of thing down a bit when they found out that Saudi and Qatar were directly funding Isis (really, read the wikileaked Hillary emails some time). This was before the Yemen invasion...

I find it hilarious that you call Saudi Arabia Moderate, even for the middle east, they're pretty hardline, bout the only governments more fundamentalist Islamic then Saudi Arabia are the Taliban and Isis

How about with all the things Iran has done it is difficult to be outraged win something happens to Iran. Today they would not allow the fact that the terrorists are dead affect
how they take vengence.

Shia and Sunni are two different sects of Islam and has been at war with each other forever.

They are killing each other because they consider each other infidels.

That IS precisely the problem with Islam.

The whole damn religion encourages vengeance non stop.

Blocking people is pretty common, when there is no point in interacting with someone, as apparently several people have decided about you, judging by their posts over the last few weeks.

People who can't handle the message boards are the ones who throw tantrums and declare they are leaving because of how they are treated...flouncers. But then you know all about that, don't you.

It doesn't matter which sect. Both still follows Muhammad. Both still follow the same War Lord, with warring mentality. And both will exterminate Yazadis and Ahmadis upon sight. If there a group of people they hate more than jews. Are these two group of people who believes in Muhammad but added their own extras to it! Like Ahmadis believes muhammad isn't the last and final prophet and believes the holy spirit keeps reincarnating into new prophets as time goes by so they are probably worshipping a living prophet today who they believe is the reincarnation of that same holy spirit that was in Jesus and Muhammad. Nothing piss off the shia and sunni more than that heresy! And of course those Yazadis gotta add extra deities into Islam that don't exist in Islam. Off with their heads!

Look at these Muslims after migrating to UK, and they still promote do this: Kill Ahmadis' leaflets found in UK mosque

Their number 1 enemy, that unites the shia and sunni is killing the poor Ahmadis.

I have a possible method of maybe slowing the terrorist a little. It's cheap and simple. Either grease the bullets that the cops or anti-terrorist agencies are using with pig fat or issue hollow pint bullets that have been topped up with a little lard and let it be known that this what those forces will be using in future. At the same time, advertise the fact that any dead terrorists or parts of terrorists will be buried wrapped in pigskin.
The good muslims won't care because it doesn't really affect them. The bad guys think twice because they know their chances at their beloved paradise just got a lot slimmer.

In Singapore, we have pork floss. We always joke that when Malaysia or Indonesia invades us, just rain pork floss on them! They would probably run back and freak out!

But I love the burying terrorist with pig skin method. That might actually discourage them from suicidal attacks in foreign land, where they have no control over what happens to their remains.

It's like fighting fog. you can punch all you like but you make no impression because it has no substance and it just keeps swirling back around you and it's stink gets up your nose until it chokes you.
