Would you want Manson as your neighbor if he were to be released ? I know I wouldn't.

You'd have Entertainment Weekly camped out on your lawn 24/7, wouldn't you?

Neither one of us will have to worry much about it. He isn't leaving prison, except in a box.

Very true. If they did let the wanker out, he could probably afford a much nicer place than next to either of us anyway.

Like it or not he was found innocent at his murder trial so that should not figure into his hearing. I seem to remember some trouble he had in prison and that should be taken into consideration. I would also think his refusal to live up to the civil agreement should have some sway as well as the affect his release will have on his children.

I don't think how good you have been in prison should be the deciding factor... but how good to society they think he will be out of prison.

I find it interesting that, so far, only white people think someone should be punished for something he did not do if he is black or at least o.j. and black.

He was sentenced to 33 years for the robbery,

Some would say he was sentenced to 33 years for a murder they could not pin on him.

when he has served each and every one of those years then he should be released.. jmo...
Remember, this wasnt just any robbery,.. it was a robbery to keep items he used to own from the Goldmans & Browns for their civil suit.. and he was convicted on 12 counts, including conspiracy to commit a crime, robbery, assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon.. He hasnt paid his debt yet.. nope..

I dont really give a damn what "some would say" about the sentence.. there are some states where you can get even harsher sentences for fairly minor things.. I guess he just picked the wrong state to do that shite in.. He had friends hide some of his stuff to avoid having it sold off to pay the Goldman & Browns' lawsuit.. I expect these items were some of those things he tried to hide.. cuz it if was really stolen from him then these items he tried to steal back still should have gone to the Goldmans & Browns..

Oh, and apparently he got 33 years cuz he is an arrogant idiot and turned down a pretty damn good plea bargain offer.. let him serve every year of it!

"In regard to plea offers, Galanter testified his practice is to always communicate plea offers to the client. He denied that Simpson did not know about plea offers. Galanter testified that during the trial he informed Simpson that prosecutors were offering a plea with 2–5 years of prison time. Simpson instructed Galanter to go back to the DA with a counter-offer of one year, which the DA immediately refused; the trial proceeded with no further offers or counters."

"Both Clarence Stewart and O. J. Simpson were charged with:
Count 1: Conspiracy to commit a crime
Count 2: Conspiracy to commit kidnapping
Count 3: Conspiracy to commit robbery
Count 4: Burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon
Count 5: 1st degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
Count 6: 1st degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)
Count 7: Robbery with use of a deadly weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
Count 8: Robbery with use of a deadly weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)
Count 9: Assault with a deadly weapon (for Bruce Fromong)
Count 10: Assault with a deadly weapon (for Alfred Beardsley)
Count 11: Coercion with a deadly weapon (for Bruce Fromong as an alternative to count 5)
Count 12: Coercion with a deadly weapon (for Alfred Beardsley as an alternative to count 6)
Simpson's order to not allow anybody to leave the room was the reason for the kidnapping charges"

Butch

I am convinced he committed murder.
However he was aquitted and that cannot legally be taken into acount in his hearing, only things relevant can be considered regardle of what the panel thinks he may have done.

You seem pretty happy with his choice.

He had friends hide some of his stuff to avoid having it sold off to pay the Goldman & Browns' lawsuit.. I expect these items were some of those things he tried to hide.. cuz it if was really stolen from him then these items he tried to steal back still should have gone to the Goldmans & Browns..

This was the part I was seeking a cite for. It would appear that we will have to accept your opinion in lieu of facts ehh???

Evidently, from your cite, o.j. was not charged with fraud or any related charges that might relate to the 'goldman' awards.

He wasnt successful, he got caught before he could do that but that certainly was his intent... if he wasnt trying to defraud the Goldmans & Browns then why didnt he just follow his lawyers advice and call the cops and let them deal with it.. he didnt do that cuz if he had then the stuff would have been seized to be auctioned to satisfy the judgement for the Goldmans & Browns... He screwed himself instead, basically.. I doubt he is any less arrogant now than he was before.. let him serve every year is my opinion.. but I am not on the parole board, guess we just have to wait to hear what they decide... ha.. I wonder if he is kicking himself for turning down the plea deal.. hahaha Even if he gets out early, he will get himself in more trouble anyway, imo..
