People need to wake up and start judging the judges and research the foundations of where they allegedly got the powers they claim, and try to validate it, it will be an eyeopener

Gays have been discriminated against in this country and I'd say, world wide, throughout history... at least recent history. Most gays were afraid to let other people know their orientation. Only in the last few years has most of the US become at least tolerant of gays. This tenuous tolerance has emboldened gays to throw of the yoke of shame and become proud of what they are... not easy to do even now. So yes gay pride is important to just say I am not dirty... I am not nasty... I am not perverted in the eyes of God...I am me and too damn bad if you don't like it. Butch

One is a political party and the other is a parade that is supposed to celebrate being free to be who you are.

Everything in this country has to be one extreme or the other. A little balance might be nice for a change. For me, poly is a choice. You chose, too. Why not? If you can get a hetero woman's slut parade going, go for it. Could be fun. On the other hand, if you don't like Pride marches, don't watch and don't join in. You don't have to personally approve of people's lifestyles but you could just support their right to get on with them unmolested, including their right to have parties you don't want to attend.

Stalin educated in a Catholic seminary school (Soviets) and the Catholic church jumped right in bed with each other as the Catholic church did with the Nazis. It was religious fascists meet political fascists. Soviets divided the church and those who didn't jump on board were excommunicated or worse.

Politicians are SUPPOSED to cater to their voters' wants and needs and ignore their own personal feelings. If they did only what they wanted to do, we wouldn't even have the semblance of democracy that we have now. On the other hand, Pence is definitely sincere in his hatred and disgust for gays, and so is a member of the party that best enables and supports that. The GOP has aligned itself with the homophobic/anti-science Christians, the gun nuts, the oil companies, disillusioned whites, the racists, the millionaires who hate paying taxes, etc... and the left has aligned itself with Hollywood, the mainstream media, minorities, and the poor. This isn't a secret-- almost everyone knows this. If you can't understand why a certain minority group would largely prefer not to vote for the people who have aligned themselves with groups that want to take away their rights, then I don't know how to reach you. The only way that Trump/Pence could appeal to gays is if those gays are more interested in things like guns or tax breaks than they are in getting married or being equal in the eyes of the law... or I guess if they're religious or self-loathing or something.

You tell us that "everything i've ever read, gays wish that they weren't gay", so it's not a surprise that you find the spectacle of people celebrating their queerness disconcerting. Especially disconcerting as it appears to you to be happening everywhere. Why are gays (who aren't supposed to like being gays according to what you have read) instead of being secretive and neurotic, out on the streets proclaiming to the world that they are happy and proud? According to what you have read, it simply shouldn't be happening, should it? One reason it happens is to make it crystal clear to folks like you who have a false impression of queers that their understanding of queers leaves a lot to be desired. You are having a problem reconciling what you have read, and what you see and hear all around you. It's obvious to me that whatever it is you have been reading has given you a completely false impression of queers, one that is impossible to reconcile with the reality you see all around you. It ought to obvious to you that your reading on queer issues doesn't describe the reality that you see.
