Resign - why let him off that easy - You want to crucify that treasonous orange cunt nutter I wager more will attend him being nailed to a cross with rusty blunt nails than his cock womble inauguration - how many atteneded that again? 3!

I actually thought aliens were going to land and put a stop to the orange folderol - I truly did

Trouble is, he's afraid of how it would look if he resigned.

And his number one concern about everything is how he looks.

well pick one -

Very true. You'd think he'd have wised up enough to realise that resigning before impeachment proceedings start would look at least a little better than waiting for that to begin, though.

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/17/2017 1:53:35 PM)

Well, he claims credit for things. Maybe he's hoping something will happen that makes him look good.

Anyway, if there's any truth to the reports he'd like to resign, that's challenged by the formation of his 2020 re-election campaign already running ads.

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/26/2017 3:09:14 PM)

I'd be curious -- who thinks Trump can be re-elected in 2020?

Depends who the democrats put up and how much of a tit Gary Johnson makes of himself next time, I suppose: Dubya and Reagan both got second terms, after all.

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 6:03:23 AM)

I wonder whether Trump will face a primary challenge.

WhoreMods -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 6:10:31 AM)

It's a good quarter century since anybody's done that, isn't it? I think Buchanan standing against Bush prime was the last occasion. Might be a case where the challenger doesn't lose if they do it in 2020 as well, which I think would be a first.

Lucylastic -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 6:10:55 AM)

his base needs to grow more before I think he gets to run again.
but yes I can see it, sadly.
simply based on the clusterfuck going on right now

A challenge for the nomination at the primary would certainly help the other lot: there's people who think that Reagan challenging Ford in '76 was the only reason Carter got elected, aren't there? Splitting a party in the run up to a general election never helps it much.

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 6:16:55 AM)

In 1976 Reagan ran against Ford in the Republican primaries. In 1980 Ted Kennedy ran against Jimmy Carter in the Democratic primaries. In 1992 Pat Buchanan challenged H.W. Bush.

They all lost, but the incumbents ended up losing in the general election.

So there is that.

Lucylastic -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 6:24:44 AM)

OH, depending on the "investigation" I dont think he will be around for 2020
BUT with the stupidity of his base? he will run if he is. but can he build his base, so far it doesn't look like it. He needs a win on something big.
If he were to work with the dems on single payer/medicaid for all, he would get more than his base.

His decisions by tweet policy does not mean he can do it. That's just embarrassing.
His distractions with the infighting is a distraction against his attempt to get sessions out and the mess of the healthcare is beyond melting, he is a mess right now.

That's the best case. It took them what, two and a half years to force Nixon to resign to avoid impeachment? I wouldn't hold your breath over expecting anything to come out of the current investigation with a republican run congress insisting that foreign influences on the president and conflicts of interest are trivial matters next to lying about getting a blow job from an intern.

Oh I can wait to see it all come out, but even if the investigation takes five years, I still dont think he will be around...
He is sinking himself all on his own. His Trans decision is gonna be an embarrassment... seem Mattis was on vacation, so now its in big question, LOL
another distraction that will please his base but will bite him in the arse eventually.

I'm still hoping for assasination rather than impeachment, myself.
Resigning to avoid being impeached allows him too much dignity, but he'll shit himself in public if he's shot dead.

mnottertail -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 11:54:21 AM)

Nixon investigation went from Sep 1971 to Sep 1974 when he was pardoned by Ford.
Bill Clinton went from 1992 to 1998 before he wiped his ass with the house bill of impeachment.

WhoreMods -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 12:02:26 PM)

Mea cula: three whole years of legal evasion, then.

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 1:02:57 PM)

Yep. These things are as much political theater as anything.

WhoreMods -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 1:03:37 PM)

Bread and circuses...

Musicmystery -> RE: President Trump, Melting Under Criticism (7/28/2017 1:17:33 PM)

Hard to believe you buggers invented the language. Chalk and cheese sometimes.
